Karas: She's alive, isn't she?
Muller: Unfortunately. I am no killer. I couldn't convince her. For years I've been trying to show her how dangerous they were, but...
Karas: Tell me where she is, Doctor. I understand. - I know what you've been through.
Muller: You know nothing. You've been wrong all along, Karas. She's the danger! Ilona is the danger, you hear me?
Karas: What are you talking about?
Muller: She pieced it together. Just like I did 40 years ago. She found the answer. The protocol for immortality. And Avalon knows. I know you want to save her, but if you save her, you'll give Avalon unlimited power. The power over life and death forever.
Karas: NO!, We have no time, Muller.
Muller: I've been keeping immortality from them for 40 years because it would be madness. Without death, life is meaningless.
Karas: Where is she?
Muller: You're not listening! Ilona isn't just another victim. If Avalon find her, we'll all be victims.
~ Muller trying to tell Karas the foreshadowing truth about Ilona.

Tasuiev: Our only hope? Who do you think you are? The world is waiting for my discovery. It always has been. Avalon will turn your dream into a nightmare. - What do you know about my dreams?
Karas: Ilona...
Tasuiev: You can't understand this anyway. You haven't got the brains.
Karas: Ilona, Bislane is safe. You can have a new life.
Tasuiev: I can have everlasting life.
Karas: Ilona, no. Don't do this. Ilona, please! I'm begging you, don't.
Dellenbach: [watching on his TV monitor] Yes. [Karas begins hearing voices from her friend Bislane and Jonas from flashbacks in his head and then gives his gun and has no chance but to shoot her and he begins to die too just before shooting her she shoots her and dies, Dellenbach watches in shock through his television mentor] NO!

As Karas lies dying, he imagines himself apologizing to Bislane for killing her sister, for which she forgives him. The film closes with Muller's little brother living as a tramp, throwing his picture of him and his brother into a burning bin.
