The Imposter Kings (also known as Gnomus the Blue, Gnomus the Green, Gnomus the Yellow, and Gnomus the Red) are special Gnome bosses that only appeared in Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2. They make their appearance in the game mode Infinity Time. Based on their appearance and on how they are named, they are alternate versions of Gnomus the Gnome King, the king and ruler of the Gnomes and the Gnomiverse.
Overview[]
Every five waves during Infinity Time, King Gnomus will send an imposter king in an order, starting first with blue and then end with red. Each of them have a color that matches with the current color zone/realm the player is in. With the exception of the blue imposter king, the green, yellow, and red imposter kings will warp away after a quarter of their health has been depleted.
Once they depart, they will summon a giant version of a nemesis (either a Plant or Zombie). After the giant nemesis is vanquished, this will cause the imposter kings to reappear. When they are defeated, all enemies present in the zone will be automatically eliminated while all time shards are automatically collected. In addition, this will allow the players to progress to the next zone, which will continue endlessly until they are vanquished.
Powers and Abilities[]
Like King Gnomus, the imposter kings can unleash a beam of rainbow-colored energy. In addition, they are capable of warping through reality. Based on Gnomes' claims, they can warp through millennia. Furthermore, whenever they would warp away, they can summon a giant nemesis.

- According to King Gnomus, the yellow Imposter King (or Gnomus the Yellow) is a second cousin of a "Yellow of Gnomus".
