India is constantly bullied and harassed at school by a boy whom she later retaliates against by stabbing him in the hand with her pencil when he attacks her. Later, she is almost raped by another boy that came to her defense when the first boy was bullying her. One night, she and Whip had gone to a park and began making out before India, in the heat of the moment, bit him on the mouth. An enraged Whip calls her crazy, then tries to convince India to have sex with him but she refuses so he tries to rape her. However, she is saved by her uncle when he kills Whip by strangling him with his belt. She then aids Charlie by helping him bury the body in the garden.
