~ The Injured Imp making a deal with Flynn.

The Injured Imp is a minor antagonist of the first book of the Doom Novels series, Doom: Knee-Deep in the Dead.

He is one of the demonic invaders who helped the Bruiser Brothers conquer Phobos under the Spider Mastermind for their conquest to conquer Earth under the Freds' rule. After having his fatal injuries, he would be the one who explain the purpose of the demonic aliens' purpose and attempt to persuade Flynn to join them before dying after being refused.

Personality[]

The Injured Imp is at first chaotic and animalistic as he is willing to help his brethren kill off any human during the invasion proving his loyalty to the Spider Mastermind. While he was injured, his personality has been more explored as he has some primitive-intelligence when he speaks in broken english but is shown to be impressed from Flynn's combat as he is shown to be persuasive, charismatic but also reliant on his side's goals and show no fear to speak as described to be a diversity between the Imps who are afraid or not. While he did still show some sadistic traits for his preparation to fight after Flynn refused the offer, he shows his calm trait while relaxing and gave in his injuries before telling him that everyone could be eaten while dying.

Appearance[]

Like his fellow other Imps, he shows some similar traits to the game counterparts but the eyes are described as slit-shaped red and covered in an oil-like substace that keeps them immune from fire. After being fatally wounded, he would be covered yellow fire-like liquid that serves as his blood while missimg a leg and his other leg being twisted.

Biography[]

Before his injuries, this individual Imp was one of the aliens that was captured and converted into a demonic version of himself and placed at Inferno deep within Deimos where they will remain for centuries. After centuries passed, he and the other demons were acciddntally set free by Bill and his team and joined the Spider Mastermind's assault, giving their leader an advantage to conquer Deimos and transport it to a dimensional void where they acclerate their plans of conquering Phobos next and eventually, Earth.

After years passed, the invaders begin their assault on Phobos as the Imp soon joined the Bruiser Brothers on their invasion, conquering the second moon and killing off a large majority of UAC personal with the exception of Flynn Taggart and Arlene Sanders. He joined with him fellow other Imps including Zombies that were reanimated UAC forces and a Lost Soul to pstrol and hunt down any survivors.

After Flynn was forced to kill a zombified Goforth, the Imp and his brethren in the group laughed taunting him as he and the group begin attacking. Flynn returns fire by killing the zombies and attempted to kill the Lost Soul but the Lost Soul dodged as the bullet hit a toxic barrel instead, resulting in an explosion that killed the Imps, except him who was now fatally injured. The Injured Imp had grown interested in Flynn's potential and had plans to persuade him to collaborate with the invaders. He approaches to him where he explained to Flynn of the Imps who fear to speak while others are brave to speak, the demons' motives for chaotic intentions, and makes a deal with him to join them and he'll be spared and see the others being Arlene and his other loved ones. After Flynn refused the offer, the Injured Imp seemed prepared at first but relaxed as he then said that the invaders may consume anyone as they had before and dies.

Trivia[]

  • He and the other Imps are referred as "Spinies" before they were eventually the only ones called by their real names from their game counterparts.
