Inkerton is a major antagonist in Another Crab's Treasure. he serves as Rolands' right-claw squid and can be fought as a boss twice.
Appearance[]
Inkerton is a dark-purple squid with purple to bright red eyes, bat-like fins above said eyes, four arrow-shaped marks on his forehead and a necklace made out of keys. He wields a crab cracker as a melee weapon and a party popper as a gun.
Biography[]
He is introduced alongside Roland as Roland interrupts the townsfolk talking about the treasure, telling the townsfolk that he will take control of the hunt. Kril, not knowing who he is, says that he'll find the treasure, leading Inkerton to attack him and puts a party popper to his head. However, Roland decides he'll allow the townsfolk to search for the treasure as he and inkerton disappear in a cloud of ink.
As kril enters Flotsam Vale, inkerton attacks him before quickly leaving the fight, say its "not worth his time.
After sneaking onto Roland's barge, the Darkstar, and a short platforming challenge, Roland traps the townsfolk and orders Inkerton to kill them, before Chitan intervenes and fights Inkerton. Roland then decides to try and kill Kril himself. After a boss fight, Roland is thrown off the barge. However, he grabs on to the treasure and rides back up, before ordering the workers from Flotsam Vale to attack. Kril is furious, and attacks Roland, causing the barge to fall into The Unfathom.
In the unfathom, roland follows inkerton looking for a way out, constantly ranting about how it's all inkertons' fault since he couldn't kill chitan. unbeknownst to roland, inkerton had fallen to the influence of the pollutant known as Gunk, and, in a fit of rage, shoots roland with the party popper, killing him. noticing kril and going insane under the gunks influence, inkerton immediately attacks kril, leading the latter to kill inkerton, his last words saying how he's "just as useless as Roland".

- Inkerton's design is likeley based off of dark fantasy whitchunters, an analog to the fact his alias is "crab hunter".
- His species is a Swordtip squid.
