~ The Inquisitor's first and only line. |
An Inquisitor is the main antagonist of "A Way Forward," an episode of the 2025 science fantasy anthology animated streaming series Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld.
He is voiced by Daniel Ross.
Biography[]
He was a humanoid Force-Sensitive alien who served the Galactic Republic as a Jedi Knight. He later served the Galactic Empire as an Inquisitor and hunted Jedi after the Jedi Purge and Order 66.
The Inquisitor tracked Jedi Padawan Lyco Strata to a desert town on a distant world. There, he spotted Strata sneaking into a landing port with Asajj Ventress, now retired and helping the boy evade Imperial stormtroopers. As Ventress urged Strata to hide, he heard blasters and a lightsaber ignite nearby. Realizing the Inquisitor had arrived, he warned her—just as the port’s doorway exploded open and the Inquisitor stepped in, igniting one blade of his spinning lightsaber.
Ventress stood between Strata and the Inquisitor, telling the Padawan to flee aboard a waiting ship as she ignited her own saber. After a tense standoff, Ventress attacked. The Inquisitor blocked her strike and knocked her back with a kick. They exchanged more blows before he flipped her onto her back. Ventress dodged a follow-up strike and shoved him away with the Force, then leapt after him—but he caught her mid-air and hurled her into some crates.
As the Inquisitor advanced on the downed Ventress, Strata rushed in from the starship, lightsaber drawn. The Inquisitor swiftly knocked him aside. Ventress grabbed Strata’s fallen saber and resumed the fight with both blades. The two clashed fiercely until the Inquisitor pinned her against a crate, forcing her to block with both sabers. He taunted her, saying her technique didn’t feel Jedi—and then revealed he knew who she was, sneering that she should’ve stayed dead.
Ventress broke free and slashed his face, leaving a scar. In response, the Inquisitor ignited the second blade of his saber. As she charged, he kicked up a dust cloud and threw his spinning blade through it. Ventress dodged, but the weapon returned to his hand. He disarmed her of Strata’s saber, cut through debris she hurled at him, and eventually knocked her back, taking her own saber too. As he prepared to strike her down, Strata stabbed him from behind with both lightsabers, killing him.
Personality[]
The Inquisitor was relentless, sadistic, and egotistical. He pursued Padawan Lyco Strata with cold precision, showing no hesitation in using overwhelming force to flush out his quarry. He took visible pleasure in dominating his opponents, taunting Ventress mid-duel and belittling her fighting style. Confident in his superiority, he believed he had the upper hand even when facing two Force users, and fought with theatrical flair—spinning his lightsaber, manipulating the environment, and mocking his enemies. Despite his strength, his arrogance blinded him to the threat Strata still posed, ultimately leading to his downfall.
