Inspector Krahn is a minor antagonist in Marvel Comics. He serves as the main antagonist of the Spider-Man arc "Perceptions". He is a police inspector who in truth was a pedophilic serial killer who seeks to scapegoat the Wendigo for his crimes.

Biography[]

Krahn’s story begins when eleven year old David Newsel is found dead by reporter Anna Brooks. The boy’s body was decayed, naked and mutilated almost beyond recognition, in fact the abuse was so vicious that the forensics were unable to determine a cause of death. This causes a frenzy in the small town of Hope and Inspector Krahn is assigned as the media’s contact for this case, who takes advantage of this by leaking details of the case to the press, resulting in riots and mass hysteria which leads to people taking matters into their own hands to kill the “Bigfoot”. The people of Hope shot at everything that moved in the woods which caused the deaths of hundreds of innocent wildlife and the death of one hunter.

Krahn and his fellow officers make their first on-screen appearance when they “unearth” the corpse of Billy Rice at Nicholls Farm. Krahn states that something evil is out there, and it is their job to blow its brains out. Krahn is then seen chewing out Anna Brooks in his office, stating that he has to deal with four-hundred reporters alongside environmentalists and rookie hunters. When Anna tells him that he is supposed to stop riots instead of causing them, Krahn accuses her of slander. He then sends Luke Thorne to track down and kill the Wendigo. When Throne and a group of officers find the Wendigo, they try to kill it, only for the Wendigo to almost kill them all out of self-defence like almost any animal backed into a corner.

When Peter Parker sends a report to the RCMP that the killer isn’t the Wendigo, but a human, Krahn sends Luke Thorne to track down and kill the Wendigo again. When Luke Thorne suggests the same thing as Peter, Krahn simply states he wants the reporters out of his woods and sends Luke to kill it anyways. In the meantime, Wolverine and the Wendigo discover the corpse of another boy. Spider-Man is left to watch the Wendigo while Wolverine brings Thorne and Krahn into the woods.

After Wolverine does so, he ties up Thorne and proceeds to explain all of his findings. David Neusel wasn’t killed by the “bigfoot” and that Wolverine only picked up human odours and that the boy wasn’t mauled, only decomposed. The second boy, Billy Rice, while actually mauled, it wasn’t by monsters, it was by dogs. The third boy was naked and decomposed, creatures do not change their habits, people do.

Wolverine then states that the killer kidnapped those boys after they ran away from home, and then he kept them and sexually abused them, and then the killer disposed of them by burying them, leaving them to rot in the ground, Wolverine then pretends to kill Thorne, and then proceeds to state that Krahn was the real killer of the boys. Wolverine then brings out the Wendigo to scare Krahn into a confession. Krahn then states that he “didn’t mean to harm the boys” and then proceeds to ramble on for ten whole minutes before trying to run away, stating "You'll never stop me!". Wolverine then states that he didn’t need to catch him, as he already has his confession on tape and that he already gave it to Thorne. While Krahn is running away, he is then shot by one of the hunters that was caught up in the hysteria, dying in the process.
