The Interastral Peace Corporation, also known as the IPC, are one of the two main antagonists (alongside the Stellaron Hunters) in the 2023 science fantasy turn-based tactical role-playing video game Honkai: Star Rail. They are an intergalactic megacorporation which oversees and manages the entire cosmic economy, which includes trade routes, interastral travel, communication, and various interplanetary regulations. On an institutional level, however, the many of the IPC’s functions resemble that of an evil and power-hungry company that seeks to maintain its dominance over the galaxy through any means necessary.
History[]
Background[]
The IPC was founded in 1387 AE by Louis Fleming and Dongfang Qixing, two followers of the Amber Lord Qlipoth who had begun trading construction material on an interplanetary scale 30 years prior. These early traders were driven by a desire to gather construction materials to aid in the Amber Lord’s ongoing construction of a cosmic wall meant to promote the Preservation of the cosmos. Fleming and Dongfang reorganized the followers of Preservation into the IPC to eliminate the need to trade construction materials for materials, by introducing a universal trading body and currency. A couple years after the IPC’s establishment, a new universal galactic currency called credits was introduced. All interastral commerce was required to be carried out in credits and, although many planets retained their own forms of currencies, prices for almost all commodities are heavily influenced by the IPC. In the hundreds of Amber Eras since its inception, the IPC still asserts that its chief goal is to support the will of Preservation, though the breadth of thr corporation’s aims has also grown to include the fostering of “interastral prosperity” and economic expansion. However, in spite of these claims, the IPC often engages in a multitude of business schemes that runs directly counter to the tenets of Preservation, promoting imperialistic ambitions across the universe.
Recent Activity[]
Two Amber Eras ago, the IPC’s Technology Department hired Calderon Chadwick, a member #79 of Nous the Erudition’s Genius Society, to research and develop a power source derived from Imaginary energy. In reality, the project’s true purpose was to use his research to create a weapon capable of destroying entire star systems in a single blast, called the Imaginary Implosion Pulse. The IPC detonated this weapon in a sector under attack by the Antimatter Legion, destroying 24 major planets and their countless inhabitants, for the sake of “preserving” the surrounding trade routes.
The IPC, in a bid to monopolize the science between the weapon, later pressured Chadwick for the rest of his life, unsuccessfully, to divulge the exact details of his research to them alone. Upon his death, they used memoria technology to reconstruct an exact replica of Chadwick’s personality and knowledge, continuing to harass him within the dreamscape of Penacony for two Amber Eras. In the end, the Trailblazer encountered Chadwick’s memoria and restored his mind, contacting Genius Society members #76, Screwllum and #83, Herta to forcibly remove the memoria from Penacony. Before the Dream Bubble dissolved in Herta’s Space Station, Chadwick entrusted Herta with the full extent of his research on the Imaginary Implosion Pulse, foiling the IPC’s scheme.
Within the past 20 years, the IPC Marketing Development Department under Oswaldo Schneider was tasked with incorporating the planet Sigonia-IV into the ICP’s purview. The planet experienced many issues related to racial conflict between the Avgin and Katican clans, and the IPC allowed the Katicans to carry out a massacre and genocide against the Avgins, inspite of an agreement to defend the latter.
Similarly, Oswaldo applied the use of military force and orbital bombing during the incorporation of Aeragan-Epharshel to drown out any resistance from the planet’s inhabitants, a decision which killed off much of the population while leaving only the frail youth and elderly.
Aetherium Wars[]
700 years ago, Belobog Architects borrowed money from the IPC to make defenses for the coming legion attacks but after a less than a century an eternal winter freezes the planet and IPC thought that everyone in Belobog is extinct, now realizing that the people of Belobog have survived the IPC came to collect the dept as the it will take several generations to be paid, Topaz was the one who insisted to lead this project as the IPC already owns Belobog and would have taken over the planet by force, while the situation was brought to a holt thanks to the astral express crew for the moment but Belobog still has the dept to pay.
Penacony[]
long ago, Penacony was once a prison planet owned by the IPC, prisoners were sent there to be workers to mend the leak through which Memoria seeped into the universe, the prisoners were exposed to the Memoria causing them to begin sharing one unified dreamscape and eventually all of them wish to be free, after an outbreak of a fragment occurred duo to a stellaron the IPC would lose Penacony as the planet goes to chaos until the Family took it over and made it a paradise, but the IPC still considers the planet as theirs and they plan on getting it back, Diamond convinced Taravan to lend his support in Favor of the project regarding business in Penacony after IPC received an they sent aventurine to attend the charmony festival in Penacony as a Representative of the IPC.
