The Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda is a major antagonist in Black Panther, being the main antagonist of the Black Panther: Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda. It's a totalitarian empire inspired by Wakandan culture and ruled by Emperor N'Jadaka. It extend over five entire galaxies.
History[]
Origin[]
Following Klaw's attack on Wakanda, King T'Challa became concerned about his entire country being dependant on Vibranium, a limited ressource. He then send a group of explorers in space to track the origin of the meteorite who brought Vibranium on Earth centuries ago, hoping to find more of it. However, the exlorers entered a space-time breach and were transported 2000 years in the past. They named the planet they landed on Bast in honor of their goddess and started to build a new Wakanda.
At first, the settlers tried to leave in peace, according to Wakandan tradition, but a series of attempted invasions pushed them to abandoned their pacifist ways. They quicky developped deep space technology, and pushed back the invasions, becoming the most powerful faction in the region. They became a totalitarian empire and, to assure their safety, choose to conquer the neighboring civilizations, expanding their territory over five entire galaxies and forming the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda. Among the conquered species were the Teku-Maza, the Kronans, the Rigellians and the Shadow People.
The Wakandan quickly mastered gene therapy, wich allowed them to drastically expand their lives while retaining their prime almost all their lives. While the procedure became generalized into the Empire, one sect pushed it further, transfering their essences into machines. Named the Between, they were considered heretics and banned from the Empire.
At an unknown point, the Empire encountered a Symbiote Hive and exterminated it.
N'Jadaka's Reign[]
After a war between the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda and the Sh'iar Empire, a soldier named N'Jadaka became a war hero, and gained a huge popularity in the Empire. Fearing N'Jadaka might overtrow him, the Emperor sent him to the Matrix of Mamadou, the last of the five galaxies not totally under the control of the Empire. There, N'Jadaka and his troops were attacked by the Between. Sole survivor, N'Jadaka found a surviving Symbiote, and bounded with it, sharing a mutual hatred for the Emperor. After defeating the Between, N'Jadaka killed the Emperor and took his place. The new Emperor maried a woman named Nareema, with who he had a daughter, Princess Zenzi. However, Nareema died prematurely.
Soon, N'Jadaka was challenged in his reign by the Marroons, a groupe of rebellious former slaves who swore to end his tyranny.
