~ Timmy in "The Internet." |
Timmy, more commonly known as The Internet, is the main antagonist of The Amazing World of Gumball episodes "The Internet" and "The Intelligence." He has the ability to control the contents of the internet, along with several other pieces of technology, via hacking.
He is voiced by Hugo Harold-Harrison, who also dubbed Akhos.
Appearance[]
In "The Internet," he looks like a bulky, ordinary computer with computer mice for hands. His face is a screen with simplistic, green, and pixelated facial features.
In "The Intelligence," Timmy has received a slight redesign. He is fully CGI-animated rather than 2D and now has legs. He also uses his entire computer host as a torso of sorts instead of simply having his face appear on the screen.
In "The Spinoffs," he lacks the mice. Additionally, his monitor "head" has wires around it.
Personality[]
Timmy is a highly arrogant, egotistical, and obnoxious individual who views himself as superior to everyone else and thinks he can do whatever he wants without facing consequences. In essence, he is a stereotypical representation of cowardly and insecure individuals online. Despite this, he isn't entirely bad, as he's shown to be friendly at times, such as when he tells Gumball and Darwin how to reboot him and when he advises Rob on what show the audience would want to watch. He also seems to be somewhat insecure, as he is saddened by a woman rejecting him and mentions that he has no friends, indicating that he's lonely. His "secret base" is littered with junk food, video games, and other nonsense, further reinforcing the stereotype of internet users.
Biography[]
In his first appearance, "The Internet," he posts an embarrassing video of Gumball online, finding amusement in doing so for no apparent reason. Later, when Gumball and Darwin confront him about it, he starts causing many electrical parts around Elmore to malfunction to stop them, such as traffic lights, utility poles, and even incriminates them on a display in front of the Donut Cop. Although the two go to the park to escape Timmy's threats, they eventually break into his room and threaten him to delete the video of Gumball or they will pull his plug. Timmy then manipulates them by mentioning the kittens they saw on the Internet earlier (which he is also implied to have orchestrated), leading them to hug him and tell him he should change his ways, much to his annoyance.
In "The Love," he stalks a hexagonal lady and tries to trick her into dating him, only for her to Ctrl-Alt-Delete him, causing him to cry about his rejection to his mother.
In "The Intelligence," when he overhears Gumball saying computers are stupid, he begins ranting about how computers do a lot for mankind and can achieve more than humans. However, Gumball unplugs the computer, sending Timmy back to his original computer screen in his house. He then decides to absorb all the intelligence in the world to prove himself superior to Gumball, but this action causes him to glitch out, shutting down all internet in Elmore and transforming it into a medieval village. Gumball and Darwin, however, find his location and see what has become of him. He tells them they have to unplug him and reboot him. After Gumball unplugs him and is about to plug him back in, Darwin stops him, saying the world could be better off without the Internet. Nevertheless, Gumball plugs him back in anyway, restoring Elmore to its previous state.
In "The Spinoffs," he plays a neutral role, where he is kidnapped by Rob, who forces him to play a tape of a show about everyone but Gumball himself. After the tapes are played, Rob dislikes how his show turned out and tells Timmy to find a better show to watch than Gumball. Timmy finds Scooby-Doo (although not referred to by name), and Rob tells the viewers to watch it instead of Gumball. However, Timmy informs him that it airs on a different channel, prompting Rob to plead with the viewers not to leave, but he ultimately fails, ending the episode.
