Some people are born to be heroes. I'm not one of them. I tried. It just wasn't meant to be. [...] Blazer? Phenomaman? They have hero powers. Strong, out there for all to see, flying through the sky. Nothing to hide. [...] I have f-ckin' villain powers. I can turn invisible and skulk in the shadows. My powers let me steal shit and watch famous people f-ck. Being a villain is my fate. It's in the f-cking stars. In the same way that Blonde Blazer was always meant to be a hero.
~ Invisigal to Robert Robertson.
All I wanted from this was for people to look at me the same way that you... you look at Blazer. Even if it was just once, you know? Instead they've always seen me how you see me right now... Like I'm incapable of good.
~ Invisigal tells Robert why she joined the Phoenix Program.

Courtney, better known by her superhero name Invisigal, is the deuteragonist of AdHoc Studio's 2025 interactive adventure video game Dispatch.

Formerly known as Invisibitch before reforming, Invisigal is a snarky and rebellious asthmatic from Los Angeles, with the power to turn invisible while holding her breath. She turned herself in and joined the Phoenix Program willingly under the condition that SDN didn't ask questions.

She is voiced by Laura Bailey, who also voiced Abby Anderson in The Last of Us Part II, Lust in Fullmetal Alchemist, Nadine Ross in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Tier Harribel in Bleach, Oceanus Shenron in Dragon Ball GT, Schrödinger in Hellsing Ultimate, Catwoman in Batman: The Telltale Series, Abigail Walker in inFAMOUS: Second Son, and Fiona in Tales from the Borderlands.

Personality[]

Invisigal is a rowdy, snarky woman. Often sometimes an indecent and a very moody woman at first, lacking respect to certain colleagues of hers like Blond Blazer, Chase and mainly Robert at first. When first meeting with Robert and Blond Blazer in the game, she acts like a fearless spoiled child, especially towards Robert, somewhat marveling at his appearance and build throughout the story. In some cases she gets into fights with Robert even striking him in the head, if he was to scold her for a failed effort in taking down Lightingstruck. Later in episodes 3 & 4, she is shown to be more distasteful of her own powers, even claiming to Robert that she is unworthy of salvation, that is she is a villain and always be one.

Biography[]

Little is known of Invisgal's early life as a supervillain, except that her name is Courtney and she engaged in many unknown crimes towards others, even other super villains, before the start of the game. Despite being a lone wolf, her asthma started getting worse, and she was eventually forced to turn to the Red Ring, who gave her an augment that increased her lung capacity. However, in exchange, she had to work for Shroud and pay down her debt for several years. One day, Shroud came to her and said she could have the entire thing cleared if she placed a bomb on the back of Mecha Man undetected. So when Mecha Man raided the Red Ring's hideout that night, Invisigal snuck onto his suit to place the bomb. But upon seeing Robert inside the suit, her conscience got to her and she decided to quit after placing it, not even waiting for it to explode. Shroud deactivated her augments as punishment for leaving. The next day, Invisigal turned herself in and signed up for the Phoenix Program, where she was inducted into SDN, a hero organization that offers former super villain mooks a chance to become a hero.

In Episode 2, she accidentally slept in conference room and overheard Blond Blazer and Robert, aka Mecha Man, arrive to talk about a meetup the night before, where she learns that the two were flirting and kissing (determinant). Blond Blazer orders her to not tell anyone, as she will know directly.

Trivia[]

  • Before episodes 7 and 8 released, a popular theory was that Invisigal was the one to plant the explosive on Robert's back in the first episode and that she either fled Shroud's gang out of guilt for what happened or she was planted into the SDN on his orders. Episode 7 confirmed that she was the one who planted the explosive on the suit.
  • The voice actresses of Invisigal and Blonde Blazer originally played the other's role at the start of recording. This was later changed when director and writer Pierre Shorette asked Laura Bailey to play the role of Invisigal instead, as they felt her voice was not a good fit for Blonde Blazer. Bailey then switched roles with Invisigal's original voice actress, Erin Yvette. This was said in a Dispatch Cast Interview.
  • Ironically, she is an asthmatic with an ability that relies on holding her breath.
    • Further ironically, despite being asthmatic, Invisigal is a smoker.
