Ipy is a supporting antagonist of Agatha Christie's 1944 historical mystery novel, Death Comes As the End. He is the youngest son of Imhotep with his sister Ankh, and is the younger brother of Yahmose and Sobek. He is the overall fifth victim of the case.
History[]
Being the youngest son of a dysfunctional family of Egyptian aristocrat, Ipy, just like other of his family members, began to have negative feelings towards his father when he married Nofret. After a fake prank by his wife and his elder sister-in-law, Ipy was threatened to be disinherited by his father. Ipy was a spoiled brat who was egocentric and believed he was much suitable for his father's position than his two elder brothers, thus deserving a larger inheritence.
After the death of Nofret, everyone were now suspects to the murder. Soon, Satipy, Sobek and a slave boy fell into victims one by one. Unfazed by his brother's death, Ipy instead began to celebrate Sobek's demise and boasted about his newer and better position with his father, expecting a larger inheritence as a result. He then threatened housekeeper Henet that he would get rid of her once he took charge. The next morning, however, Ipy was found dead in the lake, drowned.
