The Iron Gang Leader is one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside the Dweller-In-Darkness) of the 2021 Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which is based on the Marvel Comics superhero Shang-Chi. He is the leader of the Iron Gang. He was killed by Shang-Chi in order to avenge his fallen mother.

He was portrayed by Raymond Ma.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings[]

The Iron Gang was involved in a long-running war against the Ten Rings, as the gang conducted their weapons business in the Ten Rings territory without permission. Since the Ten Rings successfully eliminated the organization and eliminated most of its members, they managed to capture the gang leader. The leader was taken to the Ten Rings headquarters for execution, but Wenwu ordered him to be released, knowing that he would not be able to live with all the losses he had suffered.

Seeking revenge, the new leader of the Iron Gang brought several subordinates to the headquarters of the Ten Rings. They did not find Wenwu there, but they met his wife Ying Li, as well as his children, Shang Chi and Xu Xaling. Ying Li told them that her husband had renounced his leadership in the Ten Rings, but the leader, despite this, demanded retribution, although he released her children. After Shang Chi and Xialing left, the Iron Gang attacked Ying Li, and although she managed to eliminate many members during the fight, the Iron Gang killed her.

Blinded by rage and grief, Xu Wenwu returned as the leader of the Ten Rings to destroy the Iron Gang and avenge his wife. Together with Shang-Chi, Wenwu went to the mahjong room owned by the Iron Gang. He ruthlessly destroyed most of the members inside using his ten rings. Wenwu demanded that the last surviving member of the group tell them where to find their leader, but he did not know. Wenwu then killed him and ordered his subordinates to search everywhere to find him.

Years later, the Ten Rings managed to track down the leader in the United States, and Wenwu instructed Shang-Chi, now a teenager, to kill him in revenge for his mother. Shang-Chi successfully killed the leader, although he decided not to return to his father.
