That metal c**t, Ironcast, drinks it recreationally; says he can taste the despair. Also says it's the only thing that "raises the flag” down there.
~ Butcher describing Ironcast and his addiction to the blood of children.

Ironcast is a minor antagonist in the anthology series The Boys Presents: Diabolical. He serves as the secondary antagonist of the third episode, "I'm Your Pusher." He is a sadistic superhero who is addicted to the blood of dead children and even gets aroused by it.

Personality[]

Much like other superheroes in the series, Ironcast pretends to be selfless and polite to the people around him. In reality, Ironcast is very sadistic, saying that drinking kids blood arouses him. He appears to work with other superheroes, usually handling dangerous situations due to his iron skin.

Biography[]

Origins[]

Like other superheroes, Ironcast got his superpowers from Compound V and became a celebrity afterward. However, Billy Butcher says that he at one point started drinking the blood of terminally ill and dying children and had been meeting with a black market dealer named Oswald Deneeka to get it.

I'm Your Pusher[]

Oswald Deneeka wakes up at his apartment after a night of partying, but ends up meeting Billy Butcher. Butcher blackmails and threatens him into helping to sabotage a superhero named the Great Wide Wonder during a big show. Oswald reluctantly agrees and is given a mysterious drug prepared by Frenchie that Butcher tells him to give to the Great Wide Wonder, knowing that he's his dealer.

After giving the Great Wide Wonder the drug, Oswald goes to his show and is greeted by Butcher and his friend, Hughie. At the show, it is revealed that Homelander, Jack from Jupiter, and Queen Maeve are going to let The Great Wide Wonder into the hero hall of fame if he can fly through the giant flaming ring held by Ironcast. The drug that Oswald gave The Wonder instead causes him to freak out and fly increasingly fast across the city, as Butcher then reveals that The Wonder secretly caused the death of a group of grad students by flying them into space. After he said that, The Great Wide Wonder began flying at full speed towards the ring that Ironcast held, only to instead miss and plow directly through Ironcast and kill him before flying into a wall and killing himself. The audience is terrified, the heroes try to calm them down, and Butcher and Hughie leave. Oswald, meanwhile, begins to panic at the deaths of the two "heroes".

Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Enhanced strength: Due to his metal skin, Ironcast is exceptionally strong. He displayed enhanced strength when he lifted a giant metal ring.
  • Enhanced durability: His organic metal skin makes Ironcast more durable than a normal human being; however, it's not durable enough to survive Wide Wonder's crash.
  • Fire resistance: During the initiation, he is shown holding a ring on fire without being injured.

Weakness[]

  • Superhuman speed: The Great Wide Wonder and his speed were strong enough to blast through Ironcast and his skin.

Trivia[]

  • Ironcast is likely based on Marvel Comics' Colossus.
  • Due to the episode taking place in the comics version of The Boys, Ironcast can be considered a comic-only character.
  • It's possible that he murdered children at some point for their blood.
  • Ironcast is mentioned in another spinoff of The Boys; Gen V. However he is mentioned to have been killed by Tek Knight.
