Biography[]
Background[]
Not much is known about Isaac Dixon's past, but at some point in his life he served in the United States Marine Corps. Living in Seattle, Isaac was one of the many survivors of the Cordyceps outbreak, and was one of the many citizens of the state to live in the Federal Disaster Response Agency's quarantine zone. While living under the FEDRA, Dixon was angered by the military's abusive treatments of the residents, and decided to join the Washington Liberation Front under the leadership of Emma and Jason Patterson. The Patterson's would be eliminated by the military, and Isaac was voted leader of the wolves, and would push against the FEDRA with controversial methods. Despite this, Isaac's leadership allowed the wolves to push against the military, and many survivors and defectors would join his ranks.
The Washington Liberation Front would succeeded in pushing the military out of the quarantine zone, but were left with dealing with the infected that were blocking supply lines. Sensing that the residents within the zone were growing restless as a result, Isaac moved every one to the Soundview stadium to maintain the distribution of supplies. Despite helping the residents, he displayed his ruthlessness when he ordered his subordinates to eliminate anyone who were associated with the military, and forced any citizen to reside at the stadium or be executed. When he started to propose these rules, citizens started to realize that the W.L.F. were no better than the FEDRA. Though many recognized his ruthless and rigid personality, they would agree to his terms due to fear of being executed.
Dixon's hostility for outsiders increased when the Seraphites started to emerge, a religious cult built on the belief on detaching themselves from pleasure and technology. When both sides started to fight each other, Isaac declared war against them, and though he initially wanted to capture those within the quarantine zone, he went back and ordered his men to kill them. However, a peace treaty was enacted when the Seraphite's leader, the Prophet, agreed to leave the wolves' supply routes alone if they didn't attack the Seraphite's island. It was eventually broken when a skirmish happened between both factions, and the Prophet was later captured and taken the forward operating base. When several wolves started to question the war after hearing of the Prophet's prayers, Isaac decided to have her killed to prevent soldiers from defecting.
Isaac's actions would immediately backfire, however, as the Propeht was made a martyr, which increased the Seraphite's aggression against the liberation front. Believing that no peace could be reached again, Isaac started to form a plan to invade the Seraphites' island settlement, which would eliminate the "Scars" for good. Around the mid-2030s, the wolves encountered former Fireflies Abby Anderson, Owen Moore, Manny Alvarez, Mel and Nora Harris, and accepted them into his faction. Isaac was impressed with Abby, whom become one of his best soldiers. When learning of Abby's desire to get revenge on the survivor Joel Miller, Dixon allowed her to do this.
The Last of Us Part II[]
At the forward operating base, Isaac learned from Danny that he had been fatally shot by Owen to protect a Seraphite. Danny only confessed this to Nora. When Abby and Manny returned to the base, Isaac appointed them to lead units for the Seraphite invasion. Abby requested permission to find Owen, but Isaac refused, trusting Danny’s final words. Abby left anyway, and Isaac interrogated her friends after discovering her disobedience. When no one gave up her location, he reassigned Manny to lead a platoon in the assault. However, Manny and his team were killed by Joel’s brother, Tommy.
With key leaders missing, Isaac launched the invasion that night. During the battle, he encountered Abby protecting Lev, a young Seraphite defector. Isaac was confused but offered Abby a chance to return to the WLF in exchange for leaving Lev behind. When Abby refused, Isaac reluctantly raised his weapon—but before he could shoot, he was mortally wounded by Yara, Lev’s sister. He died shortly after. His death caused the WLF forces to retreat from the island in disarray, leading to the invasion’s failure and the likely collapse of the WLF.
