Isabella is a major character in the Cartoon Network series Victor and Valentino. She is Valentino's love interest, her true identity being a Tzitzimime Daywalker called a Ītzpāpālōtl.
She is voiced by Christina Millizia, who also voices Charlene in the same series.
Appearance[]
Isabella has dark skin, and long black hair. Originally, she wore a purple and white sleeveless shirt and blue shorts.
From "Decoding Valentino" on, she wears a deep purple sleeveless shirt with a crescent moon on it, and shorts with a lighter shade of blue. She also wears socks with purple and white shoes. She wears a lavender one piece swimsuit for swimming. In "Starry Eyes", she ended up cutting her hair to be shorter.
In her true form, Isabella was a large skeletal monster with eyes on her wrists, elbows, knees, and ankles, protrusions on her back that resemble spider legs, a snake for a tail, and large butterfly wings. She wears a brown mask connected to a large headdress with hands, circular earrings with red and white fringe, and a white, single-piece dress with red bands and a heart in the center.
Isabella can also disguise herself as anyone.
Biography[]
Season 1[]
Isabella met Victor and Valentino prior to the series, on their first day in Monte Macabre, she was the one who took their photo.
She makes her debut in "Dead Ringer" as one of the kids in Victor's soccer team.
She continues to make minor appearances, until "The Dark Room" where she gets a bigger role. Here, we see her friendship with Valentino. The two get along great. Isabella is supportive of Val, encouraging to continue photography, as well as sharing similar interests with him. This is seen further in "Fistful of Balloons" where she is sitting with Val as he reads.
Season 2[]
In the first few episodes, she continues to make minor appearances, until "Decoding Valentino", in which Valentino invites her to a journey to an ancient library in order to decode hieroglyphics. This episode shows us how smart and prepared she is, which Val grows jealous of. This results in an argument, though in a moment of danger, Val comes to his senses to save her. Once they're safe, Isabella compliments Val's work, which we see flatters him. Outside the library, Isabella makes a joke, which Val laughs at, causing the both to blush, as they form a crush.
Her next main appearance is "Starry Night", in which she is one of the kids at Reynaldo and Reynalda's camp sleepover. She greets Val, causing him to get flustered, as they set up sleeping bags and laugh together (Which annoys Vic). She spices things up by telling the kids the story of the Tzitzimimes, directing their view to the stars. They all seem to have been possessed, as Isabella now ominously leads the gang to the woods. There, she asks Val what defenses Chata's home has, before the brothers realize these aren't their friends. Later, Vic and Val use a flashlight to trick the 'mimes into thinking its sunrise. The Tzitzimimes leave, however, we mysteriously never saw Isabella's leave her.
In "Las Pesadillas", Isabella appears in Vic and Val's lucid dream after Victor ignores Val. Later, when Tez attempts to convince the brothers to stay in Forever Sleep, Vic resorts to using Isabella's likeness to get through to Val, where it is revealed he views Isabella as the only one in town to understand him.
Season 3[]
In the Season 3 premiere "Sal's Our Pal", she defends Tez when V&V express their dislike of him. In "There's No V in Team" she begins to bond and form a friendship with Victor over soccer. She continues to bond with the Calaveras, especially Val, over Season 3, as her romance and bond with Val grows.
In "The Matchmaker" her feelings for Valentino are shown at their height, as she asks him to find her a match, hoping he likes her back, however, Val believes he's not good enough for her, so he matches her with Ramon. Ultimately, a talk from Victor convinces him to get her back, which after doing so, Isabella reveals she likes Val and no one else. Valentino replies that he likes her back a lot, as he tells her he was afraid of not being good enough, she holds his hand and says he doesn't have to be afraid anymore, their relationship begins.
In "Pokin and Proddin", she is revealed to be an intern at the Tez Administration. In the ending, a mysterious being is seen talking with Tez.
We see them dating in following episodes, such as "Mission Mariachi" (aired later out of order) where she tries to help Val to meet their favorite Mariachi band, and dance together at their concert, and Jump Scare, where Victor grows bitter that the pair are hanging out without him, so he attempts to spoil their relationship, which only leads to Isabella liking Val more.
In "Another Don", she and Val plan on going to a root beer brewery, however their plans are cut short when Chata informs them an ancient water vessel her late husband Raphael gave her has been stolen. Isabella appears somber, however decides to help V&V in the investigation, though ends up leaving to get a manipedi with her mom. The culprit is believed to be Don Jalapeño as he sneaks out their house, but its revealed to be a double. The fake is chased to a cave in Tez's Island, where the boys find the vessel, but find Isabella. This is revealed to be another skin disguise, as the monster from Pokin and Proddin takes it off and flees in shame when V&V see her.
In "Starry Eyes", Vic, Val, Don, and Xochi go looking for clues as to where the real Isabella is, and what the monster is planning. Each clue ends up making Isabella look more and more suspicious, with her having lied about her address, and her telling Miguelito and Gustavo to move rocks into a formation Don describes as interstellar communication. Soon, Isabella returns, much to Victor and Valentino's relief, however, a confrontation about her suspicious behavior causes Victor and Xochi to question Val about whether it's really her. Valentino, blinded by love, defends her and leaves with her to the desert, where Isabella claims to be taking him to meet her mom. Val expresses his concern for Isabella earlier, causing her to blush and reassure him she's right here. However, he begins to go into detail about how horrifying the monster was to him. which is seen to upset Isabella. In a fit of rage, she attacks him and flies off with him, but is stopped, where it is revealed its once again the monster in disguise. A fight leads to Val pinning her down and asking where the real Isabella is. In disappointment, she replies with the fact she is the real Isabella. Val denies this, calling her a monster, which leads her to screech in his face and fly away wiping a tear from her face.
She returns in "Star Child" on a mission to kill the brothers, but her feelings for Valentino keep interfering. During one attempt, Val is venting about the breakup to her, as she is in a Guillermo skin. He says that even though he shouldn't forgive her for what she did, he still really misses talking to her. This causes Isabella to run off in tears, breaking down. She hears Chata and sees her tied up, which was done by a possessed Miguelito, aware of Isabella's fondness for the Calaveras. The 'mime goes down to lead Victor to death, but Isabella uses a Chata skin to stop them. A fight breaks out, and the 'mime is defeated, but the Chata skin begins falling, making Val realize who it really is. Isabella tries to explain herself, but the tied up Chata escapes down the stairs, leading Val to think she did this. She tries to explain, but Val, with tears in his eyes, tells her to get out and that he never wants to see her again, which makes her cry and fly away, heartbroken. She tells the Tzitzimimes her relationship with him is officially over, pledging alliance to them.
In "Follow the North Star", an illusion of her appears in the desert, taunting V&V on their lack of intelligence over not figuring out her true nature. Val manages to overcome this and strike at her, however, she fades away.
Isabella returns in the finale "Fall of the Fifth Sun", saving Val from a critical hit from the Jaguar Patrol. She fights the Jaguars, but they overpower her. Tez tells her that her mother will be disappointed she turned against him, as he opens a portal into space. Isabella begins floating and breaking slowly. She tells Val its too late for her, but not for Monte Macabre. Valentino denies and says they can still save her, however, her words lead Tez to speed up the process. She tells them Raphael can help, before beginning to break more and more. Valentino reaches out to her and calls her name, crying as Isabella does the same. In her last seconds, she tells Val how glad she is to have known him, before crumbling away and becoming a star. Valentino was the only person to ever love her, and in return, she loved him, genuinely until the very end, as she gave her life to protect the one she loved the most.

Trivia[]
- Isabella is shown to be a volunteer at the Tez administration.
- Isabella was the second girl Valentino fell in love with until he discovered she was a shape-shifting monster. The first was Matty. The only difference with the latter is that Matty only pretended to love Valentino to gain his trust and then eat him. Isabella did not pretend to love Valentino. In fact, she loved him so much that she even sacrificed her life for him. If she didn't possess that, she would've ended up like Matty.
