~ Isabelle to Esther in the beginning of the game. |
Isabelle (known as Dee while disguised as an orphan) is the secondary antagonist of the Mr. Hopp's Playhouse indie horror game series.
Many years ago, before her fateful encounter with the Entity, she existed as a young girl, innocent and unaware of the impending destiny that awaited her. However, as fate would have it, she eventually succumbed to the Entity's influence and transformed into its loyal subordinate. As a testament to their twisted bond, the Entity bestowed upon her the ownership of the Three Curses, granting her immense power and authority. This exchange occurred when the Entity bestowed six magical symbols upon her, forever changing her existence. For a period of time, she assumed the guise of a young girl named Dee, concealing her true identity from the world. Yet, it was only a matter of time before she revealed herself to Esther, unraveling the intricate web of deception that had shrouded her true nature, and kick-starting an ongoing rivalry with her.
She is voiced by Joy Hayward in Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 2 and by Shelley Hunter in Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 3.
Personality[]
In the beginning, Dee portrayed herself as a shy and timid young girl. She exuded an aura of fear and expressed her belief that there were malicious forces lurking among them. Dee cleverly presented herself as someone who possessed deep knowledge on how to eliminate these demons that roamed around, but unbeknownst to Esther, this was all a carefully orchestrated scheme.
In the persona of Isabelle, her true nature is revealed in a much more malevolent light. She exhibits unwavering loyalty towards the Entity, addressing him with utmost reverence as "your excellence". Notably, numerous aspects of her personality mirror those of her master. Isabelle derives immense pleasure from inflicting pain and torment on Esther and Ruby, relishing in the act of toying with them and compelling them to engage in distressing games. Just like the Entity, Isabelle possesses an unwavering determination to achieve her objectives and harbors a deep-seated desire for vengeance, willingly participating in the Entity's scheme to target both Esther and her family.
Biography[]
Past[]
Isabelle, a young girl living during ancient times, led a typical life until an extraordinary event changed the course of her existence. It all began when she came into contact with an enigmatic being known as The Entity, who bestowed upon her a set of mystical medallions, collectively known as the Six. However, rather than embracing this incredible gift, Isabelle's own mother ostracized her, condemning her for possessing the medallions. Consumed by anger and resentment, Isabelle harnessed the power of the medallions to unleash an explosive force upon her mother, resulting in unimaginable consequences. As a result of this tragic incident, Isabelle found herself accused of witchcraft, with her mother's demise being attributed to her alleged supernatural abilities. The gravity of these accusations ultimately led to her gruesome execution, where she was mercilessly bound to a stake and met her demise through the agonizing ordeal of being burned alive.
Following the occurrence of the aforementioned event, Isabelle's soul finds itself in the depths of the Underworld, where it encounters The Entity. In a twisted turn of fate, she becomes one of his devoted subordinates, alongside the Three Curses, bound to carry out his sinister bidding. Without a moment's hesitation, Isabelle obediently follows his every command, actively participating in his abhorrent and wicked actions. As time passes, she eventually infiltrates the Blacklands Manor Orphanage, assuming a false identity as an orphan by the name of "Dee".
Mr. Hopp Playhouse 2[]
In the year 1952, when the Entity chose Esther as its next victim, it decided to send both Isabelle and the Three Curses to the orphanage as part of its plan.
Isabelle, disguised as Dee, arrives at Blackland's Manor Orphanage in the United Kingdom. Esther, a witness to the strange and unsettling occurrences, is informed by Dee that she is fully aware of the evil that resides within the orphanage. Furthermore, Dee claims to possess the ability to put an end to all the malevolence brought about by Mr. Hopp and his companions. To achieve this, Dee manipulates Esther into believing that gathering specific materials for a ritual will result in the return of her lost friends. However, when the ritual is prepared, Dee unveils her true identity, revealing her malicious intentions towards Esther. Attempting to harm her, Dee's plan backfires and Esther is transported to the location where the initial events of Mr. Hopp's Playhouse unfolded. From that point on, Esther becomes haunted by Dee, who leads her towards different rooms only to be captured by Mr. Hopp. Despite Dee's relentless persuasion, claiming that Esther is akin to her and encouraging her to surrender, Esther remains steadfast in resisting their control.
In the true ending, after the Three Curses are successfully defeated by Esther, Isabelle makes a surprising return. It is during this pivotal moment that Esther manages to acquire the Six, a powerful artifact. However, Isabelle vehemently objects, declaring that Esther will not be able to escape the consequences of her actions. Undeterred, Esther proceeds to engage Isabelle in a fierce battle, ultimately emerging victorious.
Between the Events in Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 2 and 1.[]
Isabelle, the Entity, and the Three Curses find themselves confined within their realm, known as the Underworld, for an extensive period of time. Their entrapment lasts for numerous years until a significant event occurs on September 12, 2018, when Esther, the individual responsible for restraining them, reaches old age and becomes unable to continue holding them back.
Mr. Hopp Playhouse 3[]
On the 18th of October in the year 2019, a peculiar event occurred when Isabelle called out Ruby's name and vanished into thin air just moments before Ruby could catch a glimpse of her. However, Isabelle's mysterious presence did not end there. Shortly after, she materialized before Esther and Ruby, presenting them with an intriguing proposition to engage in a game. As quickly as she had appeared, Isabelle once again vanished, leaving the two bewildered girls in complete darkness as she flicked off the lights.
Later on, Isabelle engages in a conversation with the Entity, expressing her concerns about the need to put a stop to Esther and Ruby's actions. As the game progresses, Isabelle's regret deepens as she reflects on how Esther's actions have escalated to a point that surpasses her expectations. Frustration fills her voice as she asserts that Esther is once again single-handedly causing the destruction of everything they have worked so hard to achieve.
