~ The ossuary guard after the Penitent One defeats Isidora. |
Isidora, also known as the Voice of the Dead, is a supporting antagonist in the indie game Blasphemous, introduced in the Wounds of Eventide DLC. She guards the Severed Right Eye of the Traitor.
Biography[]
Once serving as a songstress, Isidora was beloved by children for her music. Due to a calling from the Miracle, Isidora descended to the ossuary. From the voices of the souls, their stories, tragedies, and sorrows flowed through Isidora, turning her into a psalm of shadows. Sometime later, she came into contact with the right eye of the Fourth Visage after he was punished by the High Wills, granting her the ability to manipulate fire from her scythe.
Under the Fourth Visage's requests, the Penitent One is requested to reclaim his eyes from Sierpes and Isidora. Isidora can be found in the ossuary within the bottom layer of Albero. In the ossuary, the Penitent One is required to show off the collectibles he gathered across the world of Cvstodia, having to at least collected half. If the proper requirements are met, the door to the right opens. In the room, a large torch in the middle lights up. A naked woman with flaming hair jumps from the flame wielding a scythe, transforming into Isidora.
Isidora attacks by dashing at the Penitent One and attempting to slice him with her scythe. She may end her combos by releasing a large pillar of flames. She may also summon flame pillars whenever she teleports. Another attack involves her teleporting to the center of the room, where she starts singing, in which large fireballs come out and home in on the Penitent One.
At half health, the torch relights itself and spews constant fireballs at the Penitent One, making it a little harder for him to avoid them and focus on Isidora and her scythe. When she sing in the second phase, a barage of fireballs will flow into her, allowing her to summon a barrage of flame pillars from the ground.
Upon defeating her, Isidora is reduced to a naked woman, the torch breaks, and the scythe reverts to an eye. She grabs the eye, only to disperse into dust, allowing the Penitent One to claim the Severed Right Eye of the Traitor.
