Isidoro Gómez is the main antagonist from the 2009 Argentine film El Secreto De Sus Ojos/The Secret In Their Eyes. He is responsible for the murder of Liliana Colotto de Morales, being wanted by Benjamín Esposito, Ricardo Morales, Irene Menendez and Pablo Sandoval. He is not seen again until twenty-five years later, where his destiny is revealed.

He was portrayed by Javier Godino.

Biography[]

Born in Chivilcoy, Gómez traveled a month ago in Buenos Aires, in 1974, where Argentina was on the brink of a dictatorship, and worked as an architect. He met Liliana in his teens, whom he raped and murdered on June 21 of that year.

The victim's husband, Ricardo Morales, along with Benjamín Esposito, who are investigating the case, begin to suspect Gómez because of his and Liliana's past. They both go to Gómez's house, but cannot find anyone, since Gómez knows that they are looking for him.

Soon, Gómez goes to the Club Atletico Huracan stadium to watch the match between Huracan and Racing club de Avellaneda (the club of which he is a fan). Unfortunately for him, just when Racing scores a goal, Esposito and Sandoval, who were already following his trail, find him and chase him around the stadium until they capture him.

Gómez tries to prove his innocence, but it is useless and Esposito and Irene manage to prove his guilt. At this, Gómez is enraged and attacks Irene, stating that he enjoyed her every moment of raping Liliana her before being locked up. However, Gómez reveals information about the guerrillas, due to the situation in the country, which makes Romano finally free him and turn him into a hit man, to the annoyance of Esposito and Irene. When the dictatorship ended, Gómez disappeared and was never seen again.

Twenty-five years later, in 1999, Esposito tries to find Gómez to bring him to justice, but Ricardo mentions that he killed him in the trunk of his car, so he no longer has to keep looking for him. Esposito, unconvinced, returns to Ricardo's house, only to finally meet Gómez again, locked up, old and almost unable to speak, being condemned to a fate worse than death. Gómez leaves, finally being punished for all his crimes and closing the case for good.
