Isshu Kasumi is the younger brother of the Gouraigers and one of the two deuteragonists of Ninpu Sentai Hurricaneger alongside his brother Ikkou Kasumi.
He is portrayed by Nobuo Kyo.
Biography[]
Past[]
Isshu and his older brother Ikkou were both raised by Ikki Kasumi, a ninja of Ikazuchi's Way who was passed over to become a Gouraiger after he became a mercenary and caused unnecessary destruction while on missions. Because of this, Ikki put his two sons through grueling training so they could become the Gouraigers in place of him. Ikki would later catch sight of one of the many meteor showers sent by the "it" and bore witness to its message. Becoming obsessed with it, Ikki followed the instructions he had received by preparing his sons to kill each other in a ritual on how to invoke it. Although Ikki later passed on, his two sons inherited his desire.
Ninpu Sentai Hurricaneger[]
After the Space Ninja Group Jakanja came to Earth and massacred most of the people at Ikazuchi's Way, Isshu and Ikkou claimed the Gouraiger suits for themselves. They later allied with the Jakanja and agreed to help them defeat the Hurricanegers, as they both shared goals of invoking "it". Isshu would later learn of the method his father had developed for summoning "it", but when Ikkou ingested Girigiri gas to drive himself insane so Isshu would kill him, but Isshu refused and teamed up with the Hurricanegers to save his brother. After Ikkou regained his sanity, Second Spear Chuuzubo went to go dispose of the Gouraigers, but the Gouraigers joined with the Hurricanegers to defeat him.
Despite this, the Gouraigers were not ready to ally with the Hurricanegers just yet and initially left to battle the Jakanja on their own, though they would find themselves repeatedly teaming up with the Hurricanegers to fight the Jakanja's evil ninjas. Both the Gouraigers and Hurricanegers would receive a new ally when Shurikenger appeared to assist them in their battle against the Jakanja.
When Seventh Spear, Sandaaru arrived on Earth and began rapidly advancing the Jakanja's plans to invoke "It", the mysterious benefactor to the Hurricanegers and Shurikenger, known only as "Gozen-sama", would intervene. Revealing herself to be a woman named Kagura, she declared that the Hurricanegers, Gouraigers and Shurikenger must join together to form a "Universal Ninja School" in order to stop the Jakanja. However, Sandaaru would later make a move to obtain the other artifact the Jakanja needed to invoke "It", the Grieving Bow, by using Madogi to control the Hurricanegers and Gouraigers into attacking Kagura, causing her to feel sorrow and create an opening for Sandaaru to steal the Grieving Bow medal from her, costing her her life.
Soon after Shurikenger died when Satarakura was sacrificed by Tau Zant to obtain darkness for his Ultimate Form. Wielding both the Grieving Bow and Raging Arrow, Tau Zant fired it to create an opening to allow the Evil Will into our universe. It was at that point however that Sandaaru backstabbed and killed Tau Zant to take control of the ritual, growing himself giant to fight the Hurricanegers and Gouraigers in their mecha. The Gouraigers were forced to sacrifice Gouraijin in order to defeat Sandaaru and seemingly perished in their mecha's destruction.
However, after the Evil Will revived the Seven Dark Spears to face the Hurricanegers, the Gouraigers revealed themselves to be alive and joined their fellow ninjas in fighting them. When the Evil Will brought back Tau Zant to attack them, the Hurricanegers and Gouraigers performed a combined finisher to destroy Tau Zant and the Evil Will along with him.
Afterwards, Mugensai Hinata declared that both the Hurricanegers and Gouraigers had graduated and gave them both one final assignment - obtaining their diplomas from him.
Bakuryu Sentai Abaranger vs. Ninpu Sentai Hurricaneger[]
The Gouraigers and Hurricanegers teamed up with the Abarangers to stop Evil Ninja Iga, a Space Ninja who had been sealed in Dino Earth and who had teamed up with both the Evolians and Furabiijo and Wendinu to take over the world.
Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger[]
KuwagaRaiger was among the Sentai heroes who fought against the Zangyack Empire when they invaded Earth.
Trivia[]
- Through the show and Hurricanger, the Kasumis do change and warm up to the Hurricangers by calling them by their names etc.
- Hurricanger also shows their story out of the darkness, and the culmination is shown in the movie, ten years after where it shows all the personality they have gained.
