Itchy and Scratchy are the main antagonists of "The Terror of Tiny Toon", a segment from the Simpsons episode Treehouse of Horror IX.
The titular main protagonists of The Itchy and Scratchy Show, they encounter Lisa and Bart, who got transported into their world after using a plutonium-charged remote. However, as Bart and Lisa usually laughed at Scratchy's pain in all the episodes, he and Itchy form an alliance and decide to kill both Bart and Lisa as payback. However, they are eventually saved by Homer Simpson, who uses the remote to get them out of the television, even if both Itchy and Scratchy came out of it as well, later leading to their defeats.
Biography[]
After Marge left trick-or-treating with Maggie, Bart and Lisa are unable to watch the Itchy and Scratchy Halloween Special, as Marge removed the batteries from the remote. While Homer is distracted in the kitchen playing his harmonica, Bart and Lisa find green glowing batteries inside his toolbox, but Lisa notices that it is made of plutonium, a very unstable energy. Despite Lisa's warnings, Bart puts the batteries in the remote and turns the television on, causing the screen to glow green. Lisa asks what is happening to the television as the Itchy and Scratchy special finally plays. Bart then has fun with the remote, changing the colors, though due to the plutonium, it also changes Lisa's color as well. Lisa then asks Bart to stop as a struggle happens. As they struggled, they accidentaly pressed the ENTER button, transporting them inside the television, now inside the episode itself. The two then notice Scratchy being decapitated by Itchy while trick-or-treating, making both of them laugh.
Itchy realizes how they were laughing as Scratchy's pain, offending him. He and Itchy then form an alliance and decide to kill both Bart and Lisa for being mean, first throwing an axe which seemingly misses Bart, making him laugh. However, actual blood drips out of his head, meaning that the axe really hit him on the head. Now knowing that Itchy and Scratchy are attempting to kill them both, they run out of the house screaming as Scratchy loads a cannon with random objects which Itchy fires to the duo.
Calling for the police, Bart and Lisa are seemingly saved by police officers, only for them to be none other than Itchy and Scratchy. As Itchy grabs a chainsaw and attempts to saw the two, he accidentally slices both of Scratchy's arms off, causing the police car to drive uncontrollably as it runs over Poochie in the process. Fortunately, Bart draws an EJECT button on the back of the driver's seat and presses it, causing their seats to spring them upwards, but as they thought they were safe, they both realize that Itchy and Scratchy had set up electrical bear traps below them. Homer, who was watching the television, saves them at the last second by changing the channel to a cooking interview.
However, Itchy and Scratchy are still chasing them. Transported back to Itchy's house, they notice Homer behind a large screen and call for help, but he doesn't know which button to press to eject them out. Itchy and Scratchy return as firefighters, about to fire several piranhas towards them. Bart tells Homer to hurry, but it is too late as piranhas are fired at him, eating Bart's body apart into nothing but a skeleton, leaving only his head intact. Eventually, Homer successfully gets them back to the real world. As Marge comes home, she notices Bart's skeletal body and gets scared, but thanks to Lisa, Bart's body is back to normal. However, Itchy and Scratchy smashed the screen and came out of the television as well, but as they were about to attack the family, Homer grabs Itchy and puts him inside a mouse cage. Scratchy then meets Snowball, falling in love with each other. Marge appreicates how someone fell in love with Snowball, but she tells Scratchy that he has to be neutered, causing him to yell "No" in defeat, covering his crotch.
