Well, I didn't kill anybody. And I know my rights.
~ Escota in interrogation

Dr. Ivan Escota is a major antagonist in the Criminal Minds: Evolution third season episode "I'm Fine, It's Fine, Everything is Fine". Escota is an organ trafficker leading a ring of harvesters and fraudsters, while also colluding with the operations of Dr. Malcolm Ramsey and Brad Falco.

He's portrayed by Patrick Brennan.

Biography[]

Little is revealed about Escota. What's known is he operated an organ trafficking ring in Tuscon, Arizona, rallying a whole gang behind his operations. Dr. Malcolm Ramsey and Brad Falco got in contact with Escota when they were killing women of color, as they needed the women's remains removed from their vicinity. Escota paid significant money to Falco for every woman sold to him, then his gang would hollow them of their organs and bones, dismember them, and tattoo scorpions on their remains to blame cartel violence. After three women were killed, the FBi became involved, and they swiftly tracked Escota's operations. He and his accomplices were arrested, and he gave up Falco's name since he was the primary contact between Ramsey and Escota. He was presumably incarcerated, and Falco was killed by Ramsey, then Ramsey killed by his daughter Ariel.

Trivia[]

  • Escotsa is inspired by Levy-Izhak Rosenbaum, an Israeli-American organ harvester and trafficker arrested in New York for his activities in the ring he operated.
