Ivanov is the sensei of the Russian based dojo, Tiger Strike in Russia. He is one of the few senseis competing in the Sekai Taikai. His team were able to defeat the Cobra Kai dojo easily due to Tory Nichols' lack of focus. Although they qualify for the semifinals, they are unfortunately disqualified because his students performed a drug enhancement test, allowing Cobra Kai to re-enter the tournament. Angered, Ivanov demands Gunther to remove him instead of his team, but warns him that their dojo will be banned from future tournaments if he continues that behavior.
This angered Ivanov, as he decided to knock out Gunther Braun out cold, inciting a brawl between the other dojos and causing a war between them. During the brawl, he was able to drag a Sekai Taikai official, before he and his co-sensei, Oksana, fight Kim Da-Eun and Chozen Toguchi; however, he is knocked out by Gunther after he regains consciousness.
Ivanov later regains consciousness and gathers most of his students upon finding out that Kwon Jae-Sung accidentally stabs himself.
It is unknown what happened to him since he didn't appear in the last few episodes of the series, but its implied he may have gotten disqualified, banned, and possibly stripped of his position of sensei due to having started a war with the other dojos and nearly putting everyone in public danger.
Trivia[]
It could be said that Ivanov could be the true, overarching main antagonist of Season 6 Part 2, given how that although he was able to defeat Cobra Kai at first, before he and the rest of his dojo were disqualified for the usage of doping, he incited a brawl with all the other dojos which resulted in Kwon's death.
