Julius Robert Oppenheimer, also known as Lord Shiva, is a minor antagonist in Super Science Friends, only appearing in the episode "Fullmetal Scientist". He is a scientist that experiments with nuclear weaponry and is often credited as the creator of the atom bomb, making him indirectly responsible for the bombing of Hiroshima. Oppenheimer blames himself for the genocide of so many people and, though not proud of it, sees himself as a villain who brought a new piece of mass destruction into the world.
In the lore of Super Science Friends, he is a serial killer who murdered Albert Einstein, along with several other scientists, many of which he dated. He claims to not be an evil person, as he's just being possessed by the Hindu god of destruction, Lord Shiva. As Shiva, his goal is to destroy the unchaste world, molested by Oppenheimer's irreversible invention of nuclear weaponry and give rebirth to a new, pure reincarnation of the world, which will then be a healthier and more blissful community for humanity.
Biography[]
In "Fullmetal Scientist", J. Robert Oppenheimer met and swiftly started dating Marie Curie, much to the envy of Einstein's clone. Despite this, the Super Science Friends was very friendly and supportive to their new friend and fellow scientist. This was all until Z-3 discovered that Oppenheimer was a serial killer, who was responsible for the murder of 18 other scientists, including the original Albert Einstein, whose corpse's tissue and DNA the current Einstein was cloned from.
The Super Science Friends (sans Marie) went down to Oppenheimer's office to interrogate the killer, albeit all surprised to discover that Oppenheimer was guilty or even capable of committing such heinous acts. Oppenheimer beseeched their mercy, claiming that he wasn't the true villain. Rather, it was Lord Shiva, the Hindu god of destruction, who was possessing his body and controlling him to commit these murders. He vehemently assured the team that he, himself, was a good person who would never do anything like this, while fighting back the power of Lord Shiva, who was overtaking him at the very moment. Before Shiva took full control of Oppenheimer, the latter warned the Super Science Friends not to follow him, lest he get them too. Just then, Oppenheimer's now unrestrained arm threw down some nuclear smoke bombs and escaped.
Sigmund Freud was able to deduce from a pair of panties left behind, that Oppenheimer was working in cahoots with Marie Curie. They hitched a ride on Tesla's new car and followed Freud's scent to find out where Curie was located.
Oppenheimer had since fled to an overpass, where he got together with Marie Curie for another little date. Curie was completely unaware of the man Oppenheimer truly was until The Super Science Friends arrived on the scene and told her everything. Tapputi also brought to light that the emerald broach Oppenheimer gave Curie was the same kind of broach he gave to every single female scientist he dated before murdering them. Upon hearing this, Marie was enraged, not because he was a murderer, but because he was dating other girls. Oppenheimer tried to apologize and explain that it wasn't his fault but Marie wasn't buying it and out of anger, shoved Oppenheimer into a concrete wall. The pain that Oppenheimer went through weakened him enough so that Lord Shiva could finally take full control over his body and render his original host completely powerless and virtually non-existent.
Shiva turned into his full form, which was a colossal deity, decorated with weapons and the severed heads of his past girlfriends and prepared for his ultimate battle. The Super Science Friends fought him on their own at first but being the gargantuan behemoth he was, Shive proved to be too powerful for them. Tesla converted his car into a giant fighting robot, which all of The Super Science Friends took part in to battle Shiva on a more leveled playing field. However, Shiva was again, way too powerful, and defeated them without much issue.
