Villain Overview

N, you're worthless and terrible, and if the company allowed it, I'll straight up kill you myself!
~ J threatening N and her first lines in the series.
Hmmm, no way, buddy! Questioning the company? You just finally gave me the excuse I needed.
~ J just before she infects N with a virus when realizing he may want to rebel against their parent company, and her most infamous quote.
Equity partnersh-
~ J's last words before her demise in the Pilot.

Serial Designation J-10X111001, best known as simply J, is a major antagonist in the 2021-2024 Glitch Productions web series Murder Drones.

She is a Disassembly Drone who believes she was tasked by her parent company, JCJenson, to eliminate the Worker Drones. She is the boss of N and V, whom she previously worked with as maids in the Elliot Mansion before Cyn's massacre.

She is voiced by Shara Kirby (who also voiced Candice Catnipp and Franceska Mila Rose in Bleach). She is also voiced by Flora Paulita for the Brazilian dub, Anastaiya Pakhomova in the Russian dub, Gabriela Olarieta in the Latin American dub, Alisa Mikaela Esenler in the Turkish dub, and by Iryna Fevchuk in the Ukrainian dub.

Personality[]

J is best described as a "lethal workaholic", given that she is incredibly dedicated to her job. Although J is not as sadistic and insane as V is, she does look down on others who are not as good at their designated task. This is best shown in J's relationship with N, as she despises him and tells him that she would kill him if their company allowed it. J's dislike of N goes as far as to infect him with a virus as soon as he starts to question the company (even though there may be a perfectly good reason for wanting to do so), while also taking glee in doing such an act. J was even shown abusing N in flashbacks to the Elliot Manor when they were worker drones, showing her as the only murder drone who was always a terrible person even before Cyn got to them.

J is also arrogant and prideful, as she tends to enjoy insulting others. This proved to be her downfall, as she was able to incapacitate Uzi, but rather than finishing her off right on the spot, she took the time to monologue and gave Uzi the advantage to stab her with her own acidic tail. Despite this, J does acknowledge whenever her fellow drones do something she considers worthwhile. This is shown when N supposedly gets past the Worker Drones' door and, despite her low opinion of him, J genuinely congratulates his efforts and rewards him with a pen, an item they both actually consider an accomplishment.

Despite her arrogance, J isn't incapable of showing fear. This is demonstrated in N's memories when they used to be Worker Drones for Elliot Manner, where being in the presence of Louisa Elliott is enough to terrify her alone. However, she had a positive relationship with her daughter, Tessa, whom J is genuinely nice and respectful towards. This is most likely due to the kindness she expresses towards drones and viewing them as people and not property (to an extent that is). Because of this, J carries Tessa's orders without hesitation or complaining, and even refers to her as "boss" on occasions.

It is later revealed that this is due to J being fully aware of Cyn murdering Tessa and using her body as a skin suit, yet she ultimately chose to side with her during her attempt to destroy Copper 9 out of the belief that she was on the "winning team". Despite offering V a chance to join her, she quickly abandons any sentiment to her fellow Disassembly Drones once turned down, even stating she never needed N or V and mocking the latter for not being “tough” after their genocide on Earth. In the end, while both of her teammates were able to change for the better, J was the only Disassembly Drone that remained monstrous and never once tried to improve.

Biography[]

J is first shown in a flashback by N, where J has N pinned on the ground with her foot, telling him if she was allowed to, she would kill N herself. One day, after arriving back at the corpse spire they constructed around the crashed ship. J, V, and N arrived in, J notices N had gone offline and she predicts he had tripped and got knocked offline. J reboots N's systems by smacking him in the face, the smack turns N's systems back online, and N runs away to chase Uzi and retrieve her railgun. N suddenly running away makes J and V suspicious causing them both to follow him.

J and V catch up to N to find out he managed to get through the first two doors of the Worker Drone Bunker. J seems genuinely surprised and says that N wasn't useless for once, and rewards him with a JCJenson pen. After V leaves N starts to question the company and what'll happen to the Disassembly Drones when all the Workers are killed. N's questioning gives J a chance to kill N like she's been wanting to by planting a virus on him, and leaves him for dead. J then flies into the vents to wipe out the colony of Worker Drones.

J and V would have Thad, Khan, and many other Workers cornered when suddenly N and Uzi arrives. N finally tells J that he doesn't like the way she's been treating him, after N says this J calls him a traitor and a fight ensues between N and V, and Uzi and J. While N defeats V, J would be on the brink of victory as she has Uzi on the ground and is about to finish her off, however during J's monologue Uzi stabs her with her own tail. The stab causes J to back up in pain and fall down, which allows Uzi to grab her railgun, and shoot J with it. The railgun blast obliterates the top half of J's body, and after the fight, N flies out with Uzi, and a captive V.

In a dream of N's, most likely a flashback, J is a Worker Drone maid in a mansion where she is shown to still have been abusive to N, this abusive nature of J's is shown by her kicking him to the floor, after calling him a moron and telling him to move. before J then looks over and greets Tessa, Though quickly gets annoyed after seeing Tessa with another Worker Drone hiding behind her for reassurance. until the end of the dream or flashback N has. Later when the Worker Drone Frank is attempting to fix the whole in the ceiling left by N, J's body is shown to start moving away like something is dragging it. The thing dragging J's body is the Absolute Solver, which then starts killing more Workers to get parts and material to fix J's body. J would later be brought back, and helps Tessa, who had come to Copper 9, kill a Worker Drone.

Later, J would end up helping Uzi and her friends to stop the Solver's plans as Doll got the Keybug and entered the labs. Tessa told J to guard the ship while she and others go into the underground. Later, when J gets the ship to the labs entrance, she gets hit by a school bus and lost the keys. As she draws her gun, she is met by Lizzy and Thad, carrying a railgun and a metal pipe. J feels unnerved when she sees the emitted glow of the railgun, likely remembering her death by it at Uzi's hands.

During the Absolute Solvers apocalyptic rampage, J tries to kill Lizzy, Thad, and Khan, only to be confronted by V and the Red Eyed Sentinel. As the 2 former allies fought each other, it's revealed that J knew all along that the Solver possessed Cyn had killed Tessa and was wearing her skin to access the Lab, being a willing collaborator in the Solver's plot to destroy Copper 9 to spare herself. She initially attempts to convince V to join her, only for V to reject her and J to coldly state that she never needed her or N. She joins the Solver in its final battle with Uzi, N, and V.

Her last act was to try and attack Uzi from behind only to be blocked by V, who states that J chose the wrong side before shooting her in the face and sending her to fall underneath the debris in defeat. She's last seen in the closing credits trying to repair one of the Murder Drone ships, presumably to escape Copper 9 following the defeat of the Absolute Solver.

Trivia[]

JMaleConcept

J's initial concept design as male.

  • J's monologue to Uzi is apparently named "BestMonologueEver.mp3", shown by the file name displayed on her screen as she was monologuing. This implies J likely plans out her monologues and prefers to wait for the right moment to use them.
  • She seems to have an obsession with (or at least extensive knowledge of) economics.
    • First, there's the fact that she seemingly views buzzwords to be as bad as swear words, or at least largely uses them instead of swears. This is backed up by how, after being stuck with her own nanite acid, she began shouting buzzwords as if they were obscenities.
    • Then, there's a scene in the episode, "Home", in which she angrily breaks a chain apart as Tessa is describing an unrelated layoff to her.
  • When asked if J was actually dead following her death in the pilot, Liam Vickers responded with nervous stuttering, before saying “Uh-Oh!”. This may imply that she could return in the future. Likewise, she eventually made her reappearance in the episode, The Promening.
  • At the live premiere of Episode 2 in Los Angeles, it was revealed that J was originally intended to be male. The concept art of her original design was revealed in the Glitch Inn announcement video.
  • One of J's initial sketches featured her with her hair out instead of being tied in pigtails, but was later changed when the team felt she looked too similar to Evelyn Claythorne from Meta Runners. Another one featured her with a ponytail and a hair clip at the side of her head.
  • J is shown to be a darker counterpart to V. Both drones were shown to retain their memories from the Elliot Manor and were fully aware they were helping the Solver, only pretending to be ignorant to stay alive. The difference is V decided to turn against the Solver to protect N and ultimately grew to care about others like Lizzy and Uzi too, eventually redeeming herself while J kept on assisting the Solver even after it murdered Tessa, the only person J cared about, to save herself.
