Jabra is a major antagonist in the Enies Lobby arc and a minor antagonist in both the Wano Country arc and the Final Saga in One Piece franchise.
He is a former member of the World Government's elite black op assassination agency CP9, who unlike Cipher Pols 1-8, focused almost exclusively on assassination. During the events of the Enies Lobby, Jabra fought and was defeated by Sanji, and consequently he and the rest of Cipher Pol 9 were framed and terminated from the organization by their commanding officer Spandam. Sometime during the two year timeskip, Jabra and the rest of CP9 were reinstated and promoted to the most powerful and dangerous Cipher Pol cell of all, the exclusive CP0. He is the archrival of Rob Lucci.
Appearance[]
Jabra, a man with dark skin, sports a Fu Manchu mustache, a pointed goatee, and long hair braided into a thick queue that looks like a scorpion's tail. A diagonal scar runs down his left eye. In his half-wolf form, Jabra has an unusually large tail and snout, with the kanji for "wolf" tattooed on his shoulder. During the Enies Lobby events, he rocked small, pointed sunglasses on his forehead, small hoop earrings, and a black tie over his bare chest. His black tangzhuang, white down the middle, was always open but somehow managed to cover his tattoo in human form. He completed his look with a red sash around his waist, black pants, and shoes, resembling a typical Chinese Kung Fu martial artist.
Personality[]
Jabra is one of the few members of CP9 who is still affable despite the life he's chosen to lead. While he is a fierce sadist when in combat and even openly expressed cannibalistic tendencies, Jabra takes no enjoyment in prolonged suffering and cruelty and prefers to kill his enemies as quickly and cleanly as possible. In this regard, he is almost the polar opposite (something he is in more ways than one) of his rival Rob Lucci, who harbors extreme bloodlust and hunger for violence and battle. He also cares for his teammates, and despite their ferocious rivalry even cares about Lucci as well, helping the others raise money for his medical treatmtent once they were excommunicated by the World Government. Also, despite his patronizing and jealous relationship with Kaku, and the fact he finds his Devil Fruit to be utterly ridiculous, the two still work together without any issue, with Jabra even being the one to carry the unconscious Kaku away from Enies Lobby during their escape.
While Jabra prefers to finish his opponents in an honorable matter, to achieve this end he can and does resort to underhanded tactics, most notably trying to lie his way into getting his enemies to let their guard down so he can strike, as seen when he fabricated a story about being Robin's older brother to Sanji. Despite this, he does prefer to keep his fights fair overall, as seen when he told Zoro and Usopp they'd free them from their seastone handcuffs if they happened to have the matching key. Much like Lucci, Jabra's Devil Fruit either perfectly suited his sadism, or developed it further, as Jabra often licks his lips, his claws and fangs in sadistic, animalistic hunger. Also like Lucci, he has a pet he cares about, in this case, a rooster as opposed to Lucci's pet pidgeon Hattori.
