~ Jack Frost’s lamentation of losing Jimmy Thaw

Jack Frost is the major antagonist of the Rainbow Magic franchise, from various books to the film, Return to Rainspell Island.

He lives in his Ice Castle with his many goblin servants. He is often responsible for the bad things that happen in both Fairyland and the human world, which is often through stealing a certain fairies' magical objects that keep certain events in order, with the help of his goblin servants. He often appears in the first book where he commits a terrible deed that leads the main protagonists, Rachel Walker and Kirsty Tate getting involved begins a set of the series, and the last book of a set of series where the girls face off against him. In the Holiday Specials, he would steal three objects from one fairy and in the regular series, he would take seven or four objects belonging to each fairy, and they end up having an adverse effect on both Fairyland and the human world.

In the movie, Jack Frost is voiced by David Holt.

Personality[]

Jack Frost is often portrayed as greedy, ruthless, selfish, impatient, and very prone to anger. Being the King of the Goblins where the entities work for him, and he has a habit of bossing them around and issues orders to do something for him. Because of their clumsiness and unable to do anything right, Jack often has to do things on his own. Jack desires nothing more than to rule over Fairyland and deeply loathes the fairy residents that live there and stealing their magic objects from them, but because both Kirsty and Rachel often stand in his way, he never accomplishes his goals and the damage he causes is often undone. As cruel as he is, Jack is cowardly, and he gets scared quite easily and he has a childish side to him when he pitches a fit when he doesn't get his way. He can be quite petty as his reasons for his actions are often selfish and pathetic when he could have put aside his ego and asked for help. His greed and ego are often the major factors that lead to his downfall as both Rachel and Kirsty often take advantage of it to defeat him.

Despite his antagonistic demeanor, Jack Frost is occasionally willing to return the objects when he learns that it either negatively affects him or his kingdom, or it prevents the goblins from being kept in order.

Appearance[]

For physical appearance, Jack Frost has blue skin, ice blue eyes, and white icicle hair. He wears a robe along with a cloak with a jagged edge along with matching boots. In the later series, he has often disguised himself in order to blend in with the other humans.

Powers and Abilities[]

Jack Frost often causes the temperature around him to fall below freezing which also causes the water around him to freeze. He is shown to wield a wand that can cast several spells, from banishment and teleportation, to hiding the goblin's green skin or taller, though in the earlier series, he can still cast spells independently, usually with his fingers. He frequently uses his ice magic to freeze certain individuals and covers them in ice. When the freezing magic wears off, they will have no memory of the events. He can create ice bolts to either shoot them at his foes or ride on them.

Trivia[]

  • In the earlier series, there had been a few times where Jack Frost melts when exposed to sunlight or high temperatures, however, this oddly doesn't apply to the later installments.
