Detective Jack Kirby is a major antagonist in the 2001 crime-drama film, L.A.P.D.: To Protect and to Serve.
He is a crooked Internal Affairs Detective and involved with James Alexander and other criminal activities.
He was portrayed by John Novak, who also played The Djinn in the Wishmaster horror movie series, Zeus in Supernatural, Jed McNally in Smallville, Faust in Adieu Galaxy Express 999, Caligo in Barbie: The Pearl Princess, Slithraa, Acidicus and Skalidor in LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu.
Biography[]
In the film, Kirby is first seen at the Internal Affairs Headquarters with Detective Gillis questioning the homeless man that saw the crooked cops selling stolen items and was nearly killed by them.
Kirby and other IA detectives arrest Officer Jerald Meyerling for theft, possession of drugs with intent to distribute, and attempted murder. Back at the IA Headquarters, the detectives negotiate with Meyerling, who then cuts a deal with them for his freedom.
Later, Kimberly went to the IA to report that Sextram attacked and rape her. Promising her and the names that assaulted her.
Kirby and Gillis are called by Steele's father, Stuart to cooperate with the evidence against the crooked officers. However, Kirby shoots Gillis and Stuart and made it looked like they killed each other.
After learning Kimberly's death and witnessing her corpse, Steele was filled with anger and decides to confront the crooked cops with Wade, taking matters into their own hands once and for all. Arriving at the pawnshop and goes to the back office, Steele and Wade confront the crooked officers in a standoff.
While preparing to fight off the crooked cops, Kirby arrives and tries to arrest Steele and Wade and reveals that he killed Steele's father. While doing so, he was shot and killed by Wade.
