Jack Lint is the primary antagonist of Terry Gilliam's 1985 film Brazil. He was played by Michael Palin, who also portrayed Luigi Vercoti in several monty Python sketches.

Jack is a torturer for the Government and a former friend of the protagonist, Sam Lowry (Jonathan Pryce).

He has a wife and three children, but considers them merely accessories to advane his career; he cannot even remember their names.

Initially presented as being a friend of Sam, it is later revealed what his job is, and is thought to be the murderer of Sam's love interest, Jill Layton. However, after Sam finds out that Jill is still alive, the two have a passionate embrace. Later in the film, Jack has to torture Sam as he is a member of the resistance against the government.

In the final scenes of the film, Jack is believed to be shot in the head by Archibald Tuttle (Robert De Niro). Tuttle escapes with Sam and Jill to freedom. This is then shown to be a dream Sam is having and is, in fact, lobotomized, meaning that Jack has succeeded in his plan.

Although he is considered a primary antagonist in the film, he is in fact only a small part of a bigger picture. Brazil is about the bureaucracy of governments and how they can enslave a society, and therefore the Government as a whole could be considered the main villain.
