~ Sherlock analyzing Jack McGinty's sociopathy |
Jack McGinty is for all his superficial claims of strengthening America, is nothing more than a greedy sociopath who wants to keep his costs low to make high profits, and will never see the point of a human life, that he frequently causes needless death for the sake of making examples and mocks Garret's sacrifice when recalling how he ahd his gang butcher him as an example for Fort Summer. Even to his own men he has not care towards. He has one of his men humiliate himself and place his own life in jeopardy as he knows if that man dies, he has dozens to a hundred more where he actually came from, and upon using his cannon callously blasts at the town despite knowing his men are present. Honor and compromise is a completely foreign concept to McGinty, that when Garrett surrenders himself so that he can spare the town, McGinty goes back on his word and kills him anyway. Even when Billy the Kid decides to spare his life and not kill him, he decides to dishonorably shoot him from the back. If there is one singular trait to McGinty that is positive, it is that he is not a coward, while willing to be a cheater, he is still willing to get his hands dirty and even goads Billy to kill him when he bests him. But it ultimately does nothing to ever mitigate his nature as a complete sociopath detached from life itself.

Biography[]
Jack McGinty is a businessman who is behind various construction projects. But in truth he is a ruthless crime lord with a gang of his own called the Scowrers. To get land for dirt cheap to sue for his projects, McGinty has his gang invade towns and use them to intimidate and murder people to force the towns population into selling themselves out. For McGinty's vast construction empire to succeed, McGinty had ended up destroying numerous towns all across America to buy the land for cheap. One instance is when he attacks Fort Sumner in New Mexico, the hometown of the legendary Billy the Kid. Threatening the population to sell themselves out, the town's Sheriff, Garret, surrenders himself to McGinty in hopes of his town being saved. McGinty has none of that and handed Garrett over to be beaten to death by his men, and then has his mutilated corpse displayed for the entire town to see as a warning to its population, before having the entire town destroyed in the process.
Having never stopped his ways, McGinty eventually arrives in the town of Vermissa located in Pennsylvania and buys its Sheriff to his control. The town had held a large gathering in its Church to discuss the matter of selling their land to McGinty. He then eventually barges in the meeting and has the townsfolk intimidated to sell his land to him in 2 weeks for 30 dollars per lot otherwise he will wipe out the town. When a man decides enough is enough and stands up to McGinty and tell him that they are still human beings, McGinty draws out his knife, walks up to him and gleefully stabs him in the heart and kills him, before having his men massacre the Church and use the deaths of all those who died as examples for the rest of the town.
When receiving news of McGinty's malpractices in Vermissa, Billy the Kid convinces Sherlock Holmes to help him save the town from McGinty's clutches and bring him to justice. Upon their arrival, they scare off the corrupt Sheriff who runs back to warn McGinty. McGinty responds by killing him for running and then rallies up his hundred men to attack and destroy the town. When informed of landmines on the front gate, McGinty has one of his men strip himself near naked and unarmed and dig up the land for the mines, risking his life as he knows he has nearly a hundred more to replace him.
When the townsfolk proved too big an opposing force to his men, McGinty has the cannons brought out and has them open fire at the town, laying siege to it as he uses it to kill everyone inside, even his own men present in the crossfire. Goodnight Lowe then gives upon his own life to disable the cannon for good. Confronting Billy the Kid, upon realizing he was from Fort Sumner, he gleefully mocks to Billy on the death of his best friend Garrett before going on a gun duel. Defeated but spared, McGinty dishonorably tries to shoot Billy in the back but he knocks the gun out and ties him up to be arrested for his crimes. He was presumably either executed for his crimes or locked up for the rest of his life.
