Jack the Ripper is the secondary antagonist of the fourth season of Grimm.
He was portrayed by Sasha Roiz, who also plays Jack's possessed victim Captain Sean Renard in the same series and Marshal Luke Reynolds in Lucifer.
Biography[]
After Captain Sean Renard is shot and fatally wounded by Weston Steward, he ends up in surgery and ends up dying. Renard's mother Elizabeth Lascelles uses a spell to revive him from the dead, unknowingly bringing Renard back alongside the spirit of Jack the Ripper.
For weeks Renard begins suffering intense dreams and hallucinations, and wakes up in random places without any memory of how he got there. He also begins bleeding from the scars where he was shot.
Jack begins taking full possession of Renard and resumes his killing spree of prostitutes, who are secret Wesen. Renard has no memories of the incidents, and has his precinct launch an investigation. When Renard believes he is a target of Jack after his colleagues Nick and Hank receive a threatening phone call from the killer, he has police protection placed at his door. Jack takes control of Renard and kidnaps Sergeant Wu and drives them into town, where Jack plots to kill another prostitute. Jack is stopped when tracked down by Nick and Hank, who subdue and restrain Jack to prevent him doing anymore harm.
Renard is taken to Rosalee Calvert and Monroe's magic spice shop, as they have worked out a way to deal with the possession. They have Renard take a drink, although he ends up being taken over by Jack once again who grabs Rosalee and threatens to break her neck. Jack is shot multiple times by Hank and Nick, and ends up expelling himself from Renard's body. It turns out they used rubber bullets instead of real ones, as all they needed was for Jack to believe he was dead and make him leave. Jack ended up being forced back to the afterlife as a result, ending his killing spree once again.
