Oh, you don't believe that tripe, do you? The news is mostly just people reading the Internet aloud! It is holding humanity back. If you just give me the footage, it'll be like this never happened. Help me complete my mission, Margaret. Help me destroy Local News and enter an age of prosperity!
~ Jackie Carmichael to Margaret.

Jackie Carmichael is a minor antagonist in the Cartoon Network series Regular Show. She is a news reporter in disguise who is actually a robot from the future trying to destroy Local News' reputation.

She was voiced by Jennifer Hale, who also voices Sedusa and Princess Morbucks in The Powerpuff Girls, Mandy in Totally Spies, and Dark Samus in the Metroid Prime series.

History[]

Jackie Carmichael first appears at the 1000th Chopper Flight Party of Chopper 6, where she is introduced as a co-worker of Frank Smith in Local News. When Frank announces there is a special seat reserved for a particular person, she believes she will have the chance to ride the helicopter and tries to go in, but Mordecai is announced as the guest.

In "Local News Legend", she asks Margaret to help her get a cup of coffee, much to her annoyance, and also acts concerned that Frank will let Margaret go undercover because the mortality rates for undercover reporters were high. While Margaret is looking for an interesting story for Local News, Jackie, disguised as a mysterious man with her face hidden and using a voice changer, feeds her several stories that turn out to be false. When Margaret does not accept her last tip, Jackie tells her to leave but the voice changer falls out of her jacket, exposing her real voice. Margaret grabs her hat, revealing Jackie as the tipster. Jackie asserts she will win the weekly news segment, but Margaret then reveals she was already suspicious of her and had recorded their conversation with a camera under her ascot, before heading to the news station in a van. Jackie chases them in her truck, recklessly driving to catch up. As the chase is televised, Frank goes to help Margaret in Chopper 6. Jackie climbs out of the truck and jumps onto the van. The driver tries to shake her off, but she soon throws him out the window before tearing off the roof as Margaret takes control of the van. Frank launches a missile at Jackie from his Chopper 6, but she survives the strike, with a hole in her body fusing back together. Jackie jumps into the van and reveals to Margaret she is a robot from the future who was sent to infiltrate and destroy local news, as it is considered an embarrassment in the future. She demands Margaret to give her the laptop in which she downloaded the footage of their recorded exchange. Margaret seemingly gives in and climbs out of the van through the rescue ladder from Chopper 6. Because no one is driving, the van slams into a highway barrier and Jackie is apparently killed in the explosion. However, her virus in the form of a small amount of silver fluid slithers away at the scene of the crash, revealing she is not completely dead.

Personality[]

Jackie Carmichael is a cocky and rude individual, which she shows even before revealing her true identity. An example is when she assumes the special seat for Chopper 6 was for her and is visibly angry and shocked when she is not chosen to ride it. Jackie also boldly boasts to Frank that she will be the one to have her own weekly news segment, as well as the fact that she has never missed a day of work and won the "Traffic Award".

Trivia[]

  • She seemed to like Frank and often tried to seek his attention.
  • Her traits are similar to those Terminators' antagonists:
    • Being a female antagonist like T-X/Terminatrix.
    • Her power is similar to that of T-1000.
