Witches and demons are real... and they're all sent from Mars to harvest human teeth to power their time machine!
~ Jacob being correct but also wrong about the existence of demons and witches.
Oh, I know enough. I'll expose your vile plans on MewTube and finally... get my account verified. Get comfortable, demon. Cause you'll be in cages for the rest of your life.
~ Jacob's evil intentions to Vee before leaving her to be trapped in a cage.
Why are you clapping?! These children are demon spawn. And they want your teeth! Look! Look at his ears! He's from Mars!
~ Jacob's last words as he tried to expose Gus.

Jacob Hopkins is a minor antagonist in the Disney Channel animated series The Owl House, serving as the main antagonist of "Yesterday's Lie" and a minor antagonist in "Thanks to Them".

He was voiced by Roger Craig Smith, who also voiced Warden Wrath in the same show, and is also known for voicing Belson Noles in Clarence, Deidara in the English dub of Naruto, and Ripslinger in Planes.

Appearance[]

His appearance is fairly tall, he wears glasses and has facial hair, which looks like a goatee.

Personality[]

Jacob acts friendly when he's working, but under his act, he is actually a delusional, obsessive and crazy person, being obsessed with outlandish conspiracy theories and believing that witches and demons are aliens from Mars that intend to steal human teeth to build a time machine. Jacob is also very narcissistic and self-righteous with his desire to be "humanity's savior".

Biography[]

Jacob is the curator at the Gravesfield Historical Society. As the name implies, it is a museum of history. His other crimes are currently unknown, but he illegally set up traps and cameras on private property, and he was planning on dissecting Vee, a refugee demon from the Boiling Isles. However, Luz contacted her mother Camila to come rescue her. At first, she thought it was a game but when she saw how real Vee looked and the video of her transforming from her disguise as Luz she was convinced. Camila then told Jacob that she was taking Vee and threaten to turn him other to the authorities for his illegal actions. She knocks out Jacob with her chancla, released Vee, and then locked Jacob in his own cage for some self-reflection.

At some point after his encounter with Vee and Camilla, Jacob somehow got out of the cage and started making unauthorized edits to the exhibits that reflect his ego. Because of this, he was fired and replaced by Vee's friend Masha. In "Thanks to Them", he tries to expose Gus as a witch at the Gravesfield Halloween Festival, but nobody believes him as everyone thinks Gus' ears are part of a costume, and he gets restrained by security.
