Jake Fratelli is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside his brother Francis Fratelli) of the 1985 film The Goonies.
He was portrayed by Robert Davi, who also played Franz Sanchez in Licence to Kill, Robert Masterson in The Taking of Beverly Hills, Hans Zarba in Son of the Pink Panther, Juan Cortez in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Alejandro Sosa in Scarface: The World Is Yours and Goran Vata in The Expendables 3.
History[]
Jake had been arrested prior to the events of the film and locked up in Clatsop Prison.
One day he manages to escape by pretending to be hanged during lunch and makes a prison guard pass out, then he runs outside where his brother and his mother are waiting for him in the car. They set fire to the police station and flee in their jeep, returning to their hideout at the Lighthouse Lounge.
That night, two officers go to the Lighthouse Lounge to arrest the three criminals, but they are shot and killed.
While Francis makes fun of Sloth, Jake and his mother take care of the Goonies who have come there to search for One-Eyed Willy's treasure. He teases Sloth and ends up not feeding him, frustrated by his response to his singing.
After the kids are gone, Jake helps unload from the car and take him away from their base. When he returns he briefly quarrels with his brother, only to discover that someone has been in their hiding place. As they go back to unload the second body, he and Francis find Chunk, capturing him and take him to their base for interrogation, where Francis discovers a doubloon in Chunk's pocket and the brothers then go to the gallery under the Lighthouse Lounge to follow the Goonies to get One-Eyed Willy's treasure.
Along the way, Jake detonates Data's booby traps. Eventually they catch up with the kids on a log, but that log is wet so Jake slips and lands between his legs as he tries to help his brother; the two are immobilized when a nearby waterfall takes power.
Luckily for them they cling to the rocks on the bank, but when Jake manages to climb up, Data throws a boxing glove from one of his inventions in his face and they are forced to do it all over again. After climbing up, they stand up and attempt to stop the Goonies, only for them to escape again.
They finally arrive on One-Eyed Willy's abandoned ship and capture the Goonies. After Data's inventions don't work on them, the brothers round up the Goonies on the bridge and force them to abandon their wares.
When they are about to throw the Goonies off the ship, Chunk and Sloth, who managed to free themselves come to rescue them. Jake and Francis try to subdue Sloth, but the latter ties them up and dangles them from the ship.
Mama Fratelli then drops them and they start looting the ship, but in doing so they set off one of One-Eyed Willy's booby traps and the cave begins to crumble. The Goonies manage to escape while Sloth stays behind to help his family. At Cauldron Point, Sloth resurfaces alive with his family safe and sound, and Mama, Jake and Francis are arrested by the police.
