Jakob Varga was a crime lord who ran a human trafficking ring in southern California. He would have girls smuggled from Eastern European countries and sold for profit. When he realized that Ava Illic was an undercover cop, he captured her and made an attempt to sell her for profit. He is the main antagonist of season 3 episode 9 "Sea Legs" in S.W.A.T..

He is portrayed by Kevin Fonteyne.

Personality

Varga was an arrogant criminal who was apathetic to the fact that he is trafficking human lives for a profit. He was shown to be highly defensive and would capture the undercover agent, Ava Illic. When confronted by the LAPD, Varga is shown to be defiant to authority and willing to kill the police and escape.

Biography

Varga continues his human trafficking ring and came into contact with Ava Illic. He realizes that she is an undercover agent and holds her captive. During this incident, the girls managed to escape from him and was retrieved by the LAPD SWAT. SWAT begins to investigate Varga and his organization and tries find the whereabouts of the officer. During their mission, they were able to rescue multiple other girls from his organization.

At night fall, SWAT was able to find the whereabouts of Varga and his associates and ambushed them. Varga attempted to escape with Ava. Hondo tries to tell Varga to turn himself in, but he refused. Varga takes Ava into a truck and attempts to escape the junkyard. Varga tried to kill Hondo when the latter got onto the truck to rescue the law enforcement agent. Ava managed to catch Varga off guard giving Hondo the chance to kill him and put an end to his criminal acts.
