Jamaican Daninghan is a major antagonist in the first half of Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. He is a high-ranking Titans officer serving as captain of the Alexandria and one of Bask Om's top henchmen.
He was voiced by Keaton Yamada in the Japanese dub and by Roger Rhodes in the English dub.
History[]
Jamaican was assigned to pursue the AEUG flagship Argama after the AEUG attempted a raid on the Titans headquarters. From his cruiser Alexandria, Jamaican pursued the Argama across the Earth Sphere. He later returns to Gryps when the AEUG launches an assault on Jaburo.
Jamaican would later take command of Von Braun from Paptimus Scirocco, only for his incompetence to lead to him losing control of the city. He also tries to drop a colony on Granada, but the colony was diverted from its target thanks to the actions of the AEUG. After deciding to return to Gryps for supplies, Yazan Gable, fed up with Jamaican's command, gets the AEUG to kill Jamaican by getting the Super Gundam to fire at him while in front of the Alexandria's bridge and then stepping out of the way, causing the attack to hit and kill Jamaican instead.
Personality[]
Jamaican has shown to be very arrogant and abusive towards his lieutenants, much like his commander Bask Om, even looking down on them. He was Bask's most trusted commander and carries out every order Bask and Jamitov Hymen say. However, he doesn't share Bask's hatred towards Spacenoids and wanting to included them into the Titans, believing that it may lessen the AEUG's influence in space and that skill and loyalty are more important. His smug attitude often clashes with other Titan members, such as Scirocco and Yazan, holding himself above them with his rank.
