Biography[]
Past[]
Jimmy use to work in the arms trade in London. He met a beautiful woman named Jenny, Peter’s mother, and fell in love. However, she ended up with Peter’s father. Jimmy, bitterly jealous, thinks Peter's father is a self-righteous smug and killed him in a duel. Years later, Jenny gave birth to Peter but passed away. When Jimmy heard what happened, he got there too late, and took Peter in his arms. To ease up the guilt of what he did to Peter's father, he adopts and raises Peter as his own.
Present[]
A few years later, Jimmy works as a fencing teacher and became leader of a small group of pickpocketing children, whereof Peter Pan is one of. Jimmy is after a mysterious orb from an antique shop for a mysterious man named Fludd, which the boys try to steal steal to impress Jimmy. When he found the mysterious orb, Jimmy accidentally drops it, which transmits him and all the boys, except Peter, to Neverland. Jimmy and the boys (except for one called Fox) are then captured by pirates to be questioned by Elizabeth Bonny, captain of the Jolly Roger. Believing Jimmy useful to herself, Bonny befriends (and later seduces) Jimmy, who reveals his name is James Hook; whereafter Bonny informs Jimmy of her desire to control the fairy dust. Jimmy offers his services to Bonny in exchange for the boys' safety.
Having arrived on Neverland, Peter and Fox attempt to rescue the other boys from the pirates; but in the ensuing battle, Fox is killed by the pirate Starkey. Jimmy, Bonny, and a few pirates follow Peter, Tinker Bell, and Tiger Lily to a hidden city, where Robert Fludd identifies Neverland as a planet at the center of the Universe, accessible by means of the afore-said orb. Jimmy then reveals his unrequited admiration of Peter's dead mother, and a pocket watch belonging to Peter's father. They steal the orb and kidnap Aaya, who surrenders herself to ensure Peter’s safety. But Peter gets treacherously stabbed by Bonny and fell off the balcony, assumed dead. They kidnap Aaya and steal the orb. Unknown to everyone, Tinker Bell and the fairies rescue Peter just in time, bringing him to their kingdom, healing in their magical mineral pool, thus granting him the power to fly because he is pure of heart.
While still in service to Bonny, Jimmy searches for the fairy dust, and dresses himself in pirate attire and earing. Jimmy persuades the captain to risk traversing a ravine protected by the Indians with Aaya as hostage. In addition, she seduces Bonny to rule over both London and Neverland when they have the power of the fairy dust coursing through their veins and be like gods amongst men. While Halfway across the ravine with Aqua, Peter, who gains the power of the fairy dust, cuts Aaya loose and flies away with her, but fails to get Bonny to tell him the whereabouts of the orb in Bull Island while threatening her life. The Pirates capture Peter for interrogation.
When on board the ship, Hook sneaks out with Peter to shore and tricks Peter that he wants to go back to London and persuades Peter to show him the mountain passage and the mineral pool. Once they reach the passage, Jimmy betrays Peter and reveals that the pirates followed them. Bonnie immerses herself in the mineral dust, but since only the innocent can use the pool, Bonnie instead burns to death. This in turn makes James the new captain of her ship and crew. Furious of the failure, Hook reveals in rage to Peter that he was once engaged to his mother and killed his father when he found out about their affair. The Indians suddenly arrive and attacked the pirates, chasing them off, while Peter escapes the pirates.
Not willing to give up, Jimmy, now known as Captain Hook, plans to leave Neverland back to London through the orb to overrun the Indians and force the fairies to give up the secret of the fairy dust, by bringing forth an army of a thousand men from London to Neverland with modern weapons from the arms trade. Accompanied by Starkey and six other pirates, they head for bull island where he and Bonny hid the orb, due to it being too sensitive to hold on the ship. But Peter had followed and interferes, prompting a duel in which Peter severs Jimmy's right hand, which falls into the water and is eaten by a crocodile. Jimmy throws the pocket watch at Peter; but it misses and is eaten by the same crocodile.
Now stuck inside the cave, Starkey tries to find a way out and realizes the bottom of the cave is water. He approaches the wounded Hook and questions him, asking what he will use as a hand now, should they make it out. Hook simply gives him a pained smile for they both know the answer.
Trivia[]
- In this miniseries, Hook began as an English Gentleman in 1906, not a pirate like in the books or the rest of the media in the Peter Pan franchise.
