James "Jimmy" Nixon McGarfield is a minor antagonist in the animated series Codename: Kids Next Door and rival to Number 1. He became Fourth Grade Class President For Life and evil in the end of Operation: P.R.E.S.I.D.E.N.T.. In Operation: S.N.O.W.I.N.G., it is revealed the reason he became president and evil was all to win the girl of his dreams who turn out to be Lizzie Devine.
He was voiced by Tom Kenny, who also voiced Knightbrace, Common Cold, and Chester from the same series.
Appearance[]
Jimmy is a heavyset boy with curly red hair and large round glasses. In his first appearances he wore a white pinstripe suit and cowboy hat. After he turned evil he started dressing in black with a long coat, gloves and fedora. Both outfits include a bolo tie with a red rosette on its clasp.
Personality[]
Initially Jimmy was depicted as a well-mannered Southern gentleman who handled his presidential duties in a fair and just way. He was meek and cowardly though, as shown when he tried to reason with the Six-Gum Gang but backed down immediately after they shot his hat off, telling the Kids Next Door they were on their own. He harbored a crush on Lizzie Devine, but she already had a boyfriend, Numbuh 1 of the Kids Next Door. Jimmy felt inferior to Numbuh 1 and believed Lizzie would only like and notice him if he toughened up by turning evil. As part of his plan to win her over, he became a tyrant who ruled Gallagher Elementary with an iron fist, but was furious to find that Lizzie was unimpressed and stayed loyal to Numbuh 1.
Biography[]
McGarfield was the Fourth Grade President-For-Life at Gallagher Elementary School. He first appeared in Operation: R.O.B.B.E.R.S., where he attempted to the Six gum gang from fighting the Numbuh 5 but a gum bullet knocking off his hat made him tell Numbuh 5 to handle it alone.
He made his official debut as "Fourth Grade President" in Operation: P.R.E.S.I.D.E.N.T. where Sector V escorts him to a meeting at City Hall, where he plans to shorten school days and make mandatory pizza lunches. Along the way, they are attacked by Ice Cream Men, Jimmy tells Numbuh One that he is jealous of him being a leader and have a great girlfriend while he himself is not and can't ask out the girl of his dreams, they are soon attacked by a robotic duplicate of Jimmy controlled by the Delightful Children From Down the Lane. He has an Arnold Ernst Toht style fedora. However, it turns out Jimmy was working with Father and extended the school day while abolishing lunch and giving everyone triple homework.
Jimmy is the main antagonist in Operation: S.N.O.W.I.N.G., in a parody of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. He betrays his fourth graders by planning kidnapping them all on a snowday and forcing them to attend an assembly at the school. Using his Bus Walkers (a parody of the AT-AT's), Jimmy successfully kidnaps all but one person. During the assembly, Jimmy announces that, to be ruler, he will need a queen. In fact, the whole reason for his switch to evil was to make Lizzie Devine fall for him. He even has a discussion with her on the matter when she is brought before him, when she refuses as staying loyal to Numbuh One he decide to force Lizzie to love him against her will. He shows Lizzie her crown which was a modified "boyfriend helmet" made to warp her mind and permanently brainwashing her into thinking that Jimmy is her boyfriend. When Numbuh One arrived, however, he clashed 'blades' with the usurper. At the end of their battle, Lizzie announces that she loves Jimmy, which crushes Numbuh One. Jimmy took advantage of this and knocked the KND operative down.
As Jimmy was about the finish him off, Numbuh One blocked the attack with the soup container he was given by Lizzie earlier. The container breaks, and the soup falls and lands on Lizzie's crown. The soup causes it to malfunction and explode, destroying the school in the process. Defeated, Jimmy is taken to the KND Arctic Prison, where he finds out his secretary, Anna Worthington aided the KND in taking him down. Jimmy then learns that Anna betrayed him because she was jealous of his affection toward Lizzie and that she always liked him. Anna turned herself in and hoped that with their incarceration Jimmy would learn to like her. Jimmy accepts her confession and Anna becomes his new girlfriend. They are taken to the KND Artic Prison.
Jimmy's arrest leads to a new a presidential election and Eggbert becoming his successor.
