Biography[]
Early Life[]
Lynch's life prior to the events of the second game isn't documented that extensively, but a reasonable amount is known about him.
Before his arrest, Lynch worked in middle management at a warehouse in Detroit. He was at some point diagnosed with schizophrenia, which would cause him to suffer visual hallucinations, and blackouts where he would become violent. In 2003, during one of these bouts of violence, Lynch murdered his wife Annie. He called the police afterward, and he was arrested, charged and convicted of murder, and was sentenced to life in prison, which would later be changed to the death penalty.
He was approached by criminal syndicate The7, who offered them a high-ranking position with them if Lynch would agree to act as a watchdog to Kane whilst Kane gets their money back. Lynch agreed, seeing little other option in life at that point, and this leads into the events of Kane & Lynch: Dead Men.
Kane & Lynch: Dead Men[]
Lynch was on his way to death row along with fellow inmate Adam "Kane" Marcus when the prison transport was ambushed by a group of armed men who take both inmates to an abandoned mall to meet the leaders of The7, which Kane used to be a member of. Lynch was then ordered by the Younger Brother to act as Kane's "Watchdog" while he tries to retrieve The7's stolen money.
Lynch takes part in a bank robbery and is ordered by Kane to watch over the hostages in the lobby. However, Lynch has a psychotic episode and ends up killing nearly all of the hostages, thinking that they were cops. Kane and Lynch managed to escape, but only with half of The7's money as the other half was in the hands of a Japanese Yakuza leader named Retamoto.
Lynch accompanies Kane to Tokyo to meet with the owner of the Mizuki nightclub and Retamoto's daughter, Yoko Retamoto. Lynch then knocks out Yoko with one punch and carries her out of the club, but Yoko manages to overpower Lynch and run back to her office, forcing him and Kane to catch her again. Kane & Lynch arrive at a garden with Yoko, but while Kane is negotiating with Retamoto over the phone, Lynch has another episode and ends up killing Yoko, causing Retamoto to open fire at the two men. After making their escape, Lynch tells Kane that his work will be done when he hands him over to The7. But upon arriving at the meeting place, Lynch is betrayed by The7.
As Kane and Lynch are about to be killed, Mute executes Kane's wife, Lynch charges the masked mercenary while Kane beats Mute to death. After taking out The7's backup, Kane and Lynch carry Kane's wife and bury her near the highway. Lynch then goes along with Kane to recruit a group of inmates that were once members of The7. After raiding the prison and rescuing three of the five men on Kane's list, they all make their escape in a stolen prison transport.
Kane and Lynch arrive in Tokyo to eliminate Retamoto at his tower and retrieve the rest of The7's money before making their escape through the city streets. They then go to Havana where The7 is aiding a coup against the Cuban government, but were too late to confront the Brothers. When Kane recruits Carlos to help the group locate the Brothers, Lynch is against the idea, but agrees to go along with it.
Upon arriving in Venezuela, Kane and Lynch head for the hacienda while the remaining Dead Men secure the airfield nearby. However, Carlos attempts to betray them to The7 before he is shot dead by one of the Brothers. During the confrontation with the brothers, Lynch tells Kane of the land mine and Kane shoots it, killing the Elder Brother. Kane and Lynch chase the Younger Brother to the airfield and stop him. Lynch tells Kane that they need to rescue Rific and Shelly while Kane thinks he needs to just escape with Jenny.
