Janice is the secondary antagonist in Season 4 of Mr. Robot. She is a sadistic taxidermist who secretly moonlights as an assassin/torture technician for an international cyberterrorist group called The Dark Army that seeks to meddle in American politics. When The Dark Army's mole in the FBI, Agent Santiago is killed by Dark Army enforcer Otto Irving for having his cover blown, The Dark Army's leader Whiterose extorts special agent Dominique "Dom" DiPierro into being their new mole, and assigns Janice as her handler.

She was portrayed by character actress Ashlie Atkinson, who also portrays Susan Pratt in American Horror Story: Delicate and Connie Kendrickson in BlacKkKlansman.

History

Janice is first introduced as a blind date for Dom, whom her mother "accidentally" met at the church and invited over for dinner. After the dinner, Dom walks Janice to her car, where Janice privately reveals herself to be a Dark Army agent to Dom, threatening to kill her mother by disemboweling her if Dom doesn't go along with her plan. She instructs Dom to lie about Santiago's disappearance in the FBI's internal affair department's upcoming interviewing and pin the blame on a South American drug cartel. Following the interview, Dom tells Janice that she is "99%" sure her superior believes her cover story. In response, Janice has the superior murdered by throwing him off a building and framing it as depression-related suicide, as a warning to Dom to be 100% sure in the future.

On Christmas Day, Janice instructed Dom to clean up evidence of the burnt white van in the woods and to use the nearby red light traffic camera to find out who was responsible for derailing the transfer. Dom sees Elliot and Darlene on the footage and reports her findings to Janice. Dom is then sent to Angela's apartment where she is instructed to kill Darlene for knowing too much. However, Dom can't bring herself to murder Darlene, so she asks Darlene to kill her instead. Janice and a team of Dark Army operatives enter the apartment just in time to find Darlene alive, and Janice holds Darlene at gunpoint, deciding to kill her personally, but Darlene reveals that she can't kill her because she wiped her phone, so she's the only one who knows Elliot's location.

Later that night, Janice has Dom and Darlene up and spent hours telling them about the podcast she heard about the creation of buildings. She also reveals that she knows about Dom pleasuring herself to Darlene's interrogation videos, presumably due to having hacked her computer camera to surveil her. Janice then removes her tools which she plans on using to torture the two, and chooses a skinning knife. She threatens Darlene, but then proceeds to stab Dom with it, using it to force Darlene into exposing Elliot's location and give him up or Dom dies from the blood filling her lungs.

When Darlene calls Janice a psychopath, Janice explains how she tricked her psychiatrists at a young age into thinking she wasn't a psychopath, and then proceeds to call a team of assassins to Dom's family house to to hold them hostage in retaliation for Darlene's lack of cooperation, which causes Darlene to give up Elliot's location, even if it will result in her death.

After the Dark Army finds out Elliot is no longer at the location Darlene provided, Janice proceeds to call a hit on Dom's family, but it's revealed that the soldiers were killed by Deegan Macguire as his men saved Dom's family. Dom then frees herself using the knife Janice stabbed her with and shoots Janice and her men dead.
