Janice Soprano is a supporting antagonist of the HBO television series The Sopranos and a minor character in its 2021 prequel film The Many Saints of Newark.
She is the narcissistic daughter of Johnny Boy Soprano and Livia Soprano, the older sister of Tony Soprano and Barbara Gigilone, the sister-in-law of Carmela Soprano and the aunt of AJ and Meadow Soprano. At the beginning of the series she is portrayed as an antagonist towards Tony but during the course of the show, she becomes an anti-villain.
She was portrayed by Aida Turturro in The Sopranos and Alexandra Intrator in The Many Saints of Newark.

Janice was born in Newark, New Jersey, as the eldest daughter and eldest child of Giovanni "Johnny Boy" Soprano and Olivia Soprano nee Pollio.
Personality[]
Much like her mother Livia, Janice is an entitled narcissist who rarely takes responsibility for her actions and, when confronted with them, either gaslights or plays the victim. Janice is prone to anger and violence. When Tony mocks her over her refusal to raise her own son, she gets angry and attacks him despite lecturing him about controlling his own anger.
Janice is also irresponsible. She refuses to ever keep a steady job and refuses to raise the numerous children she has had over the years with different partners. Upon returning to Newark, she attempts to buy her mother's house and then move her mother out of the retirement home and in with her in order to receive disability payments.
