Dr. Jasper Fairbridge is a minor antagonist in the Series 2 of Endeavour and a supporting antagonist in its season finale, "Neverland".
He was portrayed by Paul Ridley.
Biography[]
Dr. Fairbridge was a doctor from the Blenheim Vale school for wayward boys, but in secret he turned the children in to Josiah Landesman and Gerald Wintergreen in exchange for profits.
In addition, Fairbridge sent his own daughter Angela to be raped by Wintergreen, who began lusting over a girl like Angela after being bored of raping boys. After that, Fairbridge worked with Wintergreen to conceal the truth, and helped him to brainwash Angela into believing everything was ultimately a nightmare.
Ten years later, however, Angela regained her memory when she discovered the murder of a former friend of hers, George Aldrich, when she saw a newspaper Wintergreen had read about. In the aftermath, she discovered her past and assassinated Wintergreen for revenge, and assisted Morse into uncovering the past of Blenheim Vale.
At the same time when Clive Deare sent his minion to kill Morse (but failed), Deare contacted Fairbridge to make him take part in abducting Tommy Cork, who was captured for his role in witnessing Aldrich's murder by Deare's minions. Fairbridge protested that Tommy was just a child, but he eventually complied to Deare anyway.
However, after he hung the phone, Fairbridge was confronted by Angela, who remembered everything and realized her father was also a part of the criminal ring led by Wintergreen. After a short confession. Fairbridge was killed by Angela via lethal injection, before the latter went to Blenheim Vale to rescue Morse and Thursday.
