~ Jasper to Dexter Morgan. |
Jasper Hodge is an antagonist in Dexter: New Blood, serving as the main antagonist of the episode "Runaway". He is a drug dealer who manufactures fentanyl pills potent enough to kill people with a single dose.
He was portrayed by Kellan Rhude.
Biography[]
Jasper is a drug dealer active in the town of Iron Lake, New York State. He manufactures fentanyl pills and supplies them to distributor Miles O'Flynn, who then sells them on to local addicts and gives Jasper a cut of the profits. However, due to Jasper's carelessness many of the pills contain enough fentanyl to kill someone in a single dose. At least 18 people have died from taking these drugs.
Dexter Morgan takes an interest in the Iron Lake drugs scene after his son Harrison almost dies from taking one of Jasper's pills. Miles is arrested for selling the drugs that Harrison was given and confesses that he gets his drugs from Jasper after Sergeant Logan threatens him with homicide charges. Dexter gleans Jasper's address from the police and goes to kill him.
Dexter breaks into Jasper's house and injects him with ketamine to knock him out. He then cling-films him to a table, wakes him up and forces him to look at pictures of all the people who died because of his drugs. Jasper tries to deny his guilt, insisting that they all came to him begging for drugs and dismissing Harrison as a "weak f-cking junkie" when Dexter brings him up. Dexter forces a cotton wool pad in his mouth and prepares to stab him, only to realize that Sergeant Logan has pulled up outside to talk to Jasper. Rather than risk being caught and arrested, Dexter forces Jasper to ingest a fatal amount of fentanyl, cuts him free and leaves his body in a chair to frame his death as an accidental drug overdose.
Trivia[]
- Along with Miles, as they share their kills, Jasper Hodge has the most confirmed victims out of any minor antagonist in the Dexter franchise. They both only have one less kill than Brian Moser.
