Jasper and Horace are the secondary antagonists of 1996 Disney's live-action film 101 Dalmatians. They are Cruella De Vil's henchmen.
Jasper portrayed by Hugh Laurie, who also played Dr. Gregory House, Prince George IV, and David Nix, and Holrace by Mark Williams.
Personality
Jasper is the taller of the two while Horace is shorter. They are hired to dognap Pongo and Perdita's 15 Dalmatian Puppies to be used in making Cruella's fur coat.
Horace appears to have more insight and is often shown to correctly guess what the Dalmatians' plans are. He is more likely to complain and quit, and shows more disdain to Jasper, who is more determined to finish a job, but also spontaneous, diabolical, impulsive, and arrogant, so he refuses to believe that the Dalmatians' are intelligent. He also has little respect for the cowardly and immature Horace for the most part, often telling him to "shut up" when annoyed by him. Although Jasper and Horace carry out Cruella's deeds, they only do it for money and not for any enjoyment. That said, because of their greed, they are as equally aggressive as their boss with their approach.
Both fear her wrath, especially Jasper, who spends most of their interactions kissing up to her. As a result of this, Cruella is annoyed by Jasper more than Horace. Although they both react to Mr. Skinner's line of work with a bit of disgust, they still go through with it because he isn't present in Hell Hall (unaware that Cruella had called Mr. Skinner and ordered him to get the job done that night, due to fear of the police.)
History
They are very similar to their animated counterparts, though they are depicted as much more ruthless characters, and never reform. Jasper is also shown to be less intelligent and more chipper in this version. They actually seem to enjoy animal cruelty, even deciding to take over taxidermist Mr. Skinner's job of killing and skinning the puppies. At the end, tired of all the misfortunes they had endured after kidnapping the puppies and accidentally letting them escape, they allowed themselves to get arrested and end up being sprayed by a skunk, which Cruella mistakenly took for her purse.
Unlike their counterparts in the animated version, Jasper and Horace aren't seen in the sequel, 102 Dalmatians, which assumes that they may be still locked up.
