| ~ Jax to Ragatha; a perfect summary of his character. |
| “ | Look, I know what it's like. One day, you're somebody in the real world doing important things. And then, the next, you're just a weird little cartoon... jester. You want to hold onto that part of you that still thinks it's part of that world, but in the end, where does it get you? Ragatha tries to be all nice and friendly, but she gets torn up every other adventure. Whether we like it or not, all we are now is a bunch of cartoon characters. So what's the point of pretending we're not? | „ |
| ~ Jax explains his philosophy to Pomni. |
Jax is one of the main protagonists of Glitch Productions' black comedy web series The Amazing Digital Circus. Like the other characters, he was a human who was transported into the world of the Digital Circus with the avatar of an anthropomorphic purple cartoon rabbit after putting on a VR headset.
In contrast to his peers and the other circus members who are generally good people that are either disturbed or solemnly accepting of their new life at the circus, Jax appears as an apathetic jerk, sadistic prankster, and mischievous but selfish thrill-seeker with a twisted sense of humor who torments everyone and causes chaos for his personal entertainment. As the series goes on, however, it begins to become clear that this is a facade that Jax chooses to embrace to prevent himself from becoming emotionally attached to people.
He is voiced by Michael Kovach, who also voices N in Murder Drones, Rocky Rickaby in Lackadaisy, the Prototype in Project Playtime, Kevin Barnes and Scientist 4 in Poppy Playtime, Diligence in The Gaslight District, and Cakks in Pain Girl.
Appearance
| “ | Pomni: I think we all look weird. Jax: Excuse you. This is what peak male performance looks like. My ears and tail are kinda the pinnacle of masculinity. Pomni: You don't have a tail. Jax: What are you talking about? Yes, I do. It's- (realizes he doesn't have one the entire time) What the...? Where's my tail?? How long have I not had my tail??? Pomni: I have never seen you with a tail. Jax: When would that... have even...? |
„ |
| ~ Jax when Pomni calls out their weird digital avatars, also his realization that he didn't have a tail the whole time he was in the Digital Realm. |
With a design reminiscent of 1930s animations, such as Looney Tunes or Tom and Jerry, Jax is a purple rabbit with a slim figure, lanky limbs, large feet, and a wide, oval head. He wears bright pink overalls and yellow gloves. On top of his head lies two comically long rabbit ears, with his constantly grinning teeth and the irises of his eyes being the same shade of sickly yellow as his gloves. With the exception of his overalls and the aforementioned eyes and teeth. As of episode 6, Jax now has his tail back.
Personality
| “ | Listen, I add a key dynamic. I see how far I can push things, I screw with people, and I break the fourth wall. You wanna know why? It's 'cause it's funny. I do everything 'cause it's funny! 'Cause I'm the funny one. | „ |
| ~ Jax describing his "archetype" to Pomni and why he does the things he does. |
In contrast to his peers, who have either been driven mad by, are apathetic, or solemnly accepting of their new life in the Digital Circus, Jax enjoys playing the role as a arrogant, abusive, violent, remorseless, vituperative, narcissistic, inconsiderate, insensitive, spiteful, supercilious, shameless and somewhat mean-spirited hedonist with a smug and sassy attitude and monotone voice who embraces his new circumstances, relishing in how he is free to be as a egoistical and conniving as possible with his mischief without any sort of repercussions, thus making him an overall manipulator with a shallow streak. Additionally, he is also quite sadistic given he doesn't see as any of the adventures or the circus as real, hoping for bloodshed and death to occur during Caine's adventures and being upset when they don't. This thirst for violence had led to him committing deeds of a nefariously lethal variety, such as trying to blow up the truck of the Syrup Bandits with Pomni still on it and opening the gate to the Candy Kingdom so the Fudge can lay waste to its denizens. Interestingly, Jax doesn't believe himself to be that bad of a person in spite of this; When Ragatha gets into an argument with him after he accidentally hits Gangle with a baseball, he defends himself by saying, "You always treat me like a bad guy. I'm not really a bad guy". This is shown again in the 6th episode, where Jax is offended when Pomni accuses his archetype of being “the villain” rather than “the funny one”, scoffing and losing his smile. Later, the only thing that genuinely angers him is the belief Pomni is blaming him for other’s abstracting.
Notably, Jax is the most active participant of Caine's adventures and seems to be the savviest at navigating the Digital Circus, having the key to Pomni's room before she arrived. He also takes up a leadership role in adventures, ordering the group to split up to search for Gloinks and ordering Gangle to give him a weapon to attack the Syrup Bandits under the threat of blackmail. Despite this, he seems to have little care for his fellow circus mates, tormenting them whenever he can and not even showing up to Kaufmo's "funeral" after his abstraction. His monotone voice and writing "I don't care" on his Spudsy's name tag just symbolizes his general lack of care and empathy.
However, despite his abusive behavior and egotism, Jax doesn't seem to be truly heartless as he tries to make himself seem, as he is shown to be upset while watching the abstracted Kaufmo be put in the cellar by Caine and briefly looks sad upon hearing that Zooble arranged a funeral for Kaufmo before quickly brushing it off, hinting that there’s a slight chance he cares for the other players, but chooses to hide it. It's implied he may have been closer to Kaufmo than the others, since he apparently trusted him enough to loan him his bowling ball. Furthermore, Jax's previous action of kicking Kinger and Gangle down the Gloink lair before entering himself to hide from an abstracted Kaufmo imply that he may genuinely care for the welfare of the other players but simply chooses to express it in an annoying and frustrating way so nobody observes him because he fears they will overreact.
It also seems like Jax only acts this way in the Circus because there are no consequences, much like a troll playing a video game. This might imply that Jax wasn't always this way and years in the Circus has gotten to him, the karma Jax sometimes receives for his criminally mischievous behavior (e.g getting choked by Zooble and being tied up in Episode 3) only helps showing doses of this.
It's hinted Jax has insecurity of being vulnerable around others; despite briefly feeling sad, he refuses to attend Kaufmo's funeral and when about to be "reevaluated" by Gangle, his first concern is asking if anybody else could see him like this. Likewise, despite being utterly exhausted from his day at Spudsy's, he refused to show a sincere frown in front of the others and only let his exhaustion show when he left the establishment and was alone.
In contrast to his incredibly rude and blunt behaviors, Jax is capable of showing some moments of decency with the other circus members, hanging out with them while watching Pomni hold her breath and later playing baseball with Ragatha and Gangle, even sincerely admitting that breaking the latter's mask was an accident rather than laughing at her, which also proves that if he doesn't intend to harm anyone, he won't take joy out of their misfortunes. He's even shown to be capable of holding friendly conversations with Pomni, much to her shock (albeit after being exhausted from all the work and tortured by Gangle) and later converses with her and Kinger. It's even suggested that his cruel personality might actually be his coping mechanism rather than who he truly is (or rather always was) as a person, as demonstrated when he's forced to drop his usual antagonism of the other players during the adventure at Spudsy's.
In Untitled, Jax begins to show more of his deeper personality as he interacts with Pomni throughout the "lightning round" of adventure's, as well as secrets about his past start to get revealed as well. Jax initially starts off as the usual troll he is. However, he slowly begins to show his more human side. Noticeably, he orders Kinger during the President Pomni adventure to not embarrass the latter. During Stargazing, he genuinely opens up to Pomni, wondering if Gangle can truly be happy and explaining why he doesn’t trust Ragatha’s kindness either. It’s revealed that Jax used to have a friend Ribbit, but they abstracted, which deeply affected Jax and makes him emotional whenever they’re brought up. During the bar adventure, he takes the time to try and know Pomni better, although he partially wants to spite Ragatha too for mentioning his lack of friends and even gaslights her by lying she told Gangle to kill herself. However, even Jax was shown to be saddened hearing how Ragatha’s emotionally abused her. Later, he forms a bond with Evil Pomni and even chooses to hang out with Pomni after the lighting round of adventure’s are over.
They All Get Guns has Jax imply that he used to be similar to Pomni when he first entered the circus, sharing the belief that they’re all still people before he choose to embrace the mindset of “nothing matters and none of this is real” as a coping mechanism. Presumably, thanks to losing other people in the past to abstraction (shown by his reaction to seeing Kaufmo and Ribbit’s doors), Jax seems obsessed with maintaining the status quo of the Circus members fitting into "archetypes", with Jax assigning himself to the comedic relief. As such, while he does desire to bond with others, as seen by his genuine happiness at fighting the other Circus members with Pomni (even apologizing when he accidentally shoots the latter), Jax is unwilling to get close to others in fear of hurting himself once again if they're lost. This causes him to act in a prickly and obnoxious manner that leads to everybody disliking him, with even Gangle fearing his torment post-adventures. This comes to a head when he and Pomni both breakdown at each other, with Jax falsely asserting that he’d forget Pomni if she abstracted (although when he realizes that his response seriously hurt her, he claims it was just a joke so she’ll feel better) and insisting that he's nothing but pure evil (even though he was previously shown to hate being seen as the villain) and begs her to stop trying to find good in him and remaining in a cynical, pessimistic state of mind. Despite this, Jax does care deep down for his fellow Circus members, nearly abstracting out of regret for his actions towards Pomni and purposefully avoiding her out of shame during the Favourite Character Awards.
In Beach Episode, Jax constantly shows signs of reaching his mental limits, dreaming of a trippy abyss consisting of images his abstracted friends, Kaufmo and Ribbit, showing just how close he is to giving up and would have had Pomni not woken him up. Up until the end of the episode, Jax was in a rather blank state, rarely getting up to his usual antics and not talking to the other players unless they came to him first. After arriving at the console with two buttons, with one that would supposedly take them out of the circus and the other that would keep them trapped forever, Jax, relieving supposedly traumatic memories of his time in the real world, goes into hysterical panic and runs in to push the red button, i.e. the button that prevents them from leaving, which even he seemed to be horrified by. When Caine arrives and reveals everything that happened throughout the day was an adventure he had been planning for months, Jax, after devolving into a fit of unhinged laughter over having been rightfully suspicious from the get-go, completely ditches the mask and furiously calls out Caine for his manipulation, revealing just how scared and distraught he is on the inside in front of everyone.

Villainous Acts
- Is mentioned in episode 7 by Zooble to have previously ran them over with a steamroller, set them on fire, mailed them a pipe bomb, and threw them into an active volcano, as well as pushed Gangle into a pool of piranha's. Zooble also mentions they could list even more than that.
- Upon seeing Kaufmo had abstracted, he immediately abandoned Pomni and Ragatha. Although this response was absolutely justified as it was the most rational thing to do, he could've at least tried to get them to run.
- Throwing a bowling ball at Kinger, causing him and Gangle to fall in episode 1 (although this did save them from Kaufmo).
- Wanting to shoot the gator bandits repeatedly until they're "unrecognizable" in episode 2.
- He also deliberately endangered Pomni by throwing her out of a truck in a violent and aggressive fashion, forcing Pomni to cling onto both trucks with her elastic arms, which Jax intended to make her a bridge so he could kill these bandits, and blackmailed Gangle into ramming the truck she was driving into the truck the bandits were in.
- Additionally, when the bandits truck activated spikes that would damage Gangle's truck and everyone inside, Jax insisted on Gangle ramming the truck, resulting in Ragatha getting impaled. He then blamed them getting pulled over the edge of a cliff on Gangle.
- Threatening Ragatha by saying he'd let the Fudge eat her if she doesn't stop talking.
- Unleashing The Fudge onto all of the Candy Canyon Kingdom residents, which would presumably lead to death of thousands of innocent people in said kingdom.
- In later episodes, its heavily implied the world stops existing when the circus members leave it (as Caine mentions not wanting to let the other intelligent AI run for a prolonged period of time). However, even if this is the case, Jax still attempted to get the candy people devoured for a sick thrill of getting everyone in the kingdom murdered, and while he did honor his deal with the Fudge, this was mostly due to his own sadism rather than genuine honor.
- Absorbed Ghostly with a vacuum cleaner although to be fair, he genuinely seemed to believe this was their mission (capture all the ghosts).
- Throwing Gangle's mask in Episode 3 and breaking the "Scary Room" door, which led Kinger and Pomni to face their horrors.
- Throwing Ragatha in the deep fryer and leaves her there for about a minute in episode 4. Not to mention insulting Gangle by saying she's better sad, which was one of the contributions that almost led to Gangle's abstraction had Pomni not stepped in.
- He put a suggestion where he's a poacher hunting down the other circus members as animals, shooting and mauling Gangle when she's a rhino.
- He slammed a door harshly on Zooble.
- Trying to get Pomni to defuse a ticking bomb filled with deadly spiders and centipedes in an office, which could've caused lots of harm to many, and attempting to worsen Pomni's situation by trying to goad her into cutting the wrong wire by asking her to choose her favorite color to frustrate her into making the wrong choice.
- Made Gangle play the role of a New Zealand "extremist" (suicide bomber) and blow up the white house with everyone inside.
- He gaslighted Ragatha into thinking she told Gangle to kill herself. Even if Jax being resentful towards Ragatha is understandable (as she previously brought up Ribbit), this was still cruel due to how her mother used to treat her.
- Tried to beat up Gangle after she called a vote for him to be in a maid dress.
- Attacked and mauled Nice Jax after the softball game ended simply because he didn’t like him.
- Shoots the other circus members repeatedly (even shooting Ragatha before the gun game even started), albeit most of them because Caine made it a game.
- Lashes out at Pomni while complaining he doesn’t care for her or the others and they’re all his “playthings”, though it’s implied he was lying to her and himself as he actively resisted attacking her and seemed to be breaking down mentally.
- He hits the red button, thinking it'd mean he and all the other players will remain trapped in the circus forever. Although to be fair, this was done when he was having a panic attack and wasn't in the right state of mind, immediately feeling regret. Furthermore, its implied Caine might've influenced him into doing this out of fear rather than doing it of his own free will.

Trivia
- After Jax was created, Kaufmo was written off from being a main character due to too many of them already on the show.
- Jax and Caine noticeably serve as foil’s to each other throughout the show. Both are characters that Gooseworx relates to the most, having been based off her flaws. Both are the most antagonistic characters throughout the show, noticeably earning the hatred of Zooble as a result, although Jax intentionally torments the other players while Caine’s harm tends to be accidental. Both share simplifies to AM, with Jax’s speech to Pomni mimicking the supercomputer while Caine is an all-powerful AI who controls the world. Both characters put up the facade of being cheerful and in control but are eventually shown to be the two most mentally unstable characters in the circus.
- However, the difference is ironically while Jax wants to believe he’s a heartless villain in control of everything, he’s ultimately a broken, pathetic young man afraid of being vulnerable. Meanwhile, Caine might seek to help the players but ends up being the biggest antagonist in the work due to harm he ends up causing them. Jax starts off as a seemingly one-dimensional bully but eventually is shown to be deeper and more complex than he initially appears to be, while Caine starts off well-intentioned but eventually starts to get more sinister as the shows goes on. As shown in “Beach Episode”, due to still being human, Jax at least knows what lines not to cross while Caine, due to being an AI, has no limits of what he’ll go to in order to get the players validation.
- Many fans begin to point out, especially after episode 6, that Jax shares many similarities with Ted from the short story I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream (which is fitting as the series is directly inspired by the story). Jax and Ted are both shown to be the youngest member's of the main cast, and both have a distrust towards the kindness of another character too (Ragatha being similar to Ellen). Both Jax and Ted are jerk's but largely because their personalities are a front in order to protect themselves from harm due to fear (Ted's paranoid of the other survivor's turning on him and Jax doesn't want to get close to anyone again because of the pain he felt after losing Ribbit). Also, despite their personalities, both Jax and Ted do have a heart deep down, caring about the other's more than they're willing to admit.
- Some fans also pointed out Jax's speech to Pomni parallels how AM, the main antagonist of the story, views the surviving humans. Likewise, Jax’s torment of Gangle by making her feel depressed also parallels AM’s torture of Benny doing the same for him. Jax and AM are also shown to be deeply miserable deep down as well. However, the key difference is AM is genuinely evil and sadistic, while Jax is trying to suppress his humanity and pretending to be a heartless monster to push Pomni away to protect himself.
- Jax's design bares resemblance to Roger Rabbit from Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, as both are anthropomorphic rabbits who are more often than not barefoot, and only wear overalls and yellow gloves. This may or may not have been intentional.
- In the Hindi dub, Jax speaks the Bombay dialect, and is the only to speak a unique dialect.
- Jax and Ragatha are shown to serve as inverse/foils of each other throughout the series. While Ragatha is a compulsive people pleaser who tries be kind to everyone for validation, Jax wears the facade of a sadistic, sociopathic bully to hide his true feelings.
- Interestingly, when he was asked if Jax was "a villain or misunderstood", Michael Kovach stated that Jax "wishes he was a villain but is misunderstood and doesn't even know it." He stated when Jax gave his speech to Pomni, he wanted to come across as an "evil, manipulative, awful person" but instead just came off as a pathetic young adult losing control. Even Marissa Lenti told people Jax isn't just a sadist and those who think he is are "falling for his mask".
- This suggests Jax will be seen in a even more sympathetic or even neutral light.
- At 22 years old, Jax is the youngest member of the Circus, with Zooble being only six months older than him, thus making his remark about Pomni's age in episode 5 rather ironic.
- As stated by Kovach, Jax was meant to originally have a softer voice akin to Raggedy Andy's, but thanks to it being too sincere for his egotistical personality, Jax was given a more tough and vulgar tone instead.
- Ironically, in the same episode Ragatha references a line from Raggedy Andy in the animated musical Fast Food Masquerade, Jax even made a subtle reference to Raggedy Andy, by saying one of his lines from the same animated musical where Andy said "This is really weird" around a lost camel.
- At the end of episode 2, Jax's hand is noticeably the only one not seen grabbing Pomni's hand at the end when she envisions all the other character's saving her. It's unknown if this implies Jax never befriending Pomni and only getting worse from then on or if Pomni simply doesn't consider Jax a friend at the time due to his behavior. However, as of Untitled Pomni has begun to see Jax as more of a friend.
- Gooseworx has stated that she personally finds Jax to be her favorite character, as well as the character she relates to the most. Ironically enough, almost nobody in the circus likes Jax and it's been outright stated that no one deserves to be trapped there more than him.
- Despite this, Gooseworx has stated that Jax's behavior stems from an unseen broken past, stating "everyone has a reason for why they act the way they do" and "Jax is a troubled character. You'll learn all about him someday", which was shown in Untitled and further expanded on in They All Get Guns.
- Likewise, when asked if there's anything Jax wouldn't do, Gooseworx confirmed that "There are a few lines he won't cross".
- Seeing as he occasionally talks directly to the audience, Jax is the only character other than Caine who's implied to be self-aware in the series. While he claims to be in They All Get Guns, he faces the wrong direction in Untitled and is genuinely shocked by the user's presence on the polling page, implying that he's not truly self-aware and doesn't genuinely believe he's in a cartoon.
- Jax's violent and sadistic nature may also be related to the fact that he's the member of the group who's the most aware of the fact that he's in a game and as such, treats all of its denizens cruelly thanks to acknowledging that nobody is hurt (mostly) at the end and none of them can truly die. This is confirmed in Untitled where he defends his treatment of Gangle by arguing the other's treat the circus "way too seriously", as well as in They All Get Guns when he remarks that he's trying to fill the role of a comedic character.
- Jax never opens his mouth, even when talking. The few times that it occurs is when: He gets strangled by Zooble and Pomni respectively, a few select instances in Untitled, and when his jaw drops after hearing Zooble demand sex, singing Daisy Bell with Pomni, and furiously screaming as he throws her off his back in They All Get Guns. Following the release of the latter episode, many began to speculate the reason Jax's mouth rarely opens is because it symbolizes him "lying through his teeth". This is best shown during his fight with Pomni, where he denies caring about her or any of the other circus members despite this clearly not being the case.
- As such, this could be why he only opens his mouth in the aforementioned instances: He's displaying genuine emotions, such as getting flabbergasted after hearing Zooble's remark, expresses happiness when he gets to hang out with Pomni, and reacts in anger during his fight with her.
- A minor controversy surrounding Jax's character was that he was much more malevolent in episode 2 than in episode 1 (and later episode 3 as well), with fans complaining that Jax had turned from a lovable scamp into a sociopathic monster. This claim is invalid, as Jax didn't have as many chances to cause trouble in episode 1 or 3 (the latter due to being tied up) than he did in episode 2, and more than likely would have if presented the opportunity.
- In response to said controversy, Gooseworx would go on to imply that Jax would continue to get worse as the show progressed. However, Gooseworx has admitted that she's prone to lying for fun at times, so it's possible this was simply her just jerking the fanbase around. Ironically, Jax has actually been more toned down in recent episodes compared to the 2nd one, though in the 6th episode he seems even more unstable. This may be what Gooseworx meant by "worse" instead of more of a jerk.
- After They All get Guns, many began to speculate that Gooseworx's statement about Jax "getting worse" didn't mean he would get more evil but actually refer to his mental state. This is supported by the fact starting from the 4th episode, while he showed more humanizing qualities, he also gradually began to suffer consequences for his actions and was overall less happy all the time, which nearly comes to a head when he almost abstracted out of guilt.
- Fans pointed out that when Jax notices he doesn't have a tail, there are clouds in the background that show a rabbit losing its tail while looking a bowtie. Many began to speculate this shows how Jax lost his tail, implying that after Ribbit abstracted he lost a piece of himself and it fell off. Likewise, his friendship with Pomni is the reason it grew back in the next episode.
- Jax was initially planned to be female before being gender-swapped with Pomni.
- Unlike the other humans, Jax's room isn't displayed on the background of his character pin, implying that it's a spoiler for a future episode.
- Interestingly, the background for said pin displays his door with rips showing the Void, which could have some curious implications. However, Gooseworx did state we would later get to see inside of Jax's room.
- Following the implication that Caine may have mixed up the humans and NPCs at one point, Jax has popularly been theorized to be a rogue NPC. This is because, not only is Jax's behavior markedly different from the rest of the cast, being hedonistic and cruel, he also seems weirdly knowledgable about the Circus, allegedly possessing keys to all parts of it.
- His refusal to demonstrate what happens when he holds his breath only added more fuel to the fire, with some theorizing that nothing happens since he's an NPC.
- However, this theory was debunked by Gooseworx on her tumblr page, implying that Jax only acts the way he does to annoy everybody and presumably hides things for that exact same reason. Gooseworx has admitted that she sometimes posts red herrings though, making this uncertain.
- It was also specified in the Netflix description of The Amazing Digital Circus that Pomni is trapped in the circus with "Five other humans", with one being Jax. Gooseworx later said Jax and the others are "human souls trapped in the circus as well."
- As a result of this theory being debunked, it's been theorized alternatively that Jax may be an admin or a hacker that got trapped in the Circus, hence why he has so much more control over it than his peers via the keys. It's also been theorized that Jax keeps his side-effect of breath-holding secret as it either does nothing or he's already holding his breath constantly seeing as his mouth, his only breathing apparatus, almost never opens.
- However, They All Get Guns implies Jax simply decided to embrace the cartoonish nature of the Digital Circus, which allows him to defy logic and make use of toon force/cartoon logic instead of being a hacker. The very same episode makes this evident with Kinger creating a health restoring butterfly, something he simply made up, Ragatha making the finger-in-the-barrel trick and it backfiring at Jax, something she wasn't sure it would work, and Pomni ricocheting a bullet to knock all of Zooble's guns off, showing the others can also make use of the toon force should they embrace it.
- Jax appears as the deuteragonist (alongside Caine) of the production comics for The Amazing Digital Circus, where it's revealed that he's a wealthy mechanophiliac with an empty, miserable life. This is non-canon.
- In these same production comics, he also threatens to kill Pomni for, as stated by himself, "no reason". While this hasn't been shown in the official show, this is certainly something he would do.
- Jax may be aware of these comics, as he references Pomni having a unicorn horn in Fast Food Masquerade, which was also in the comics.
- As revealed by Gooseworx, Jax was the one who came up with Gangle’s name.
- This most likely means that Jax has been in the circus longer than Gangle has, making him the 3rd longest member who's been there after Ragatha and Kinger.
- Fitting with his chaotic nature, Jax's favorite website is 4chan.
- It's heavily implied Jax has some sort of traumatic past relating to being on a farm, specifically with corn, which even Gooseworx has alluded to. This is implied by;
- Jax is said to be afraid of corn, to which Gooseworx responded that it reminds him of the farm.
- His voice actor, Michael Kovach, confirmed that Jax would internally die if he got surrounded by corn.
- When asked about what Jax has in his overall pocket, Gooseworx claims that he has mulch, a material applied to the surface of soil, and is commonly used in gardening and agriculture.
- During the 2024 Glitch X, Jax revealed to Uzi Doorman that one of his worst nightmare's was getting "lost in a corn maze once".
- In Untitled, when Zooble shows corn to Jax, he seems immediately uncomfortable, asking them to put that away immediately.
- It's revealed in They All Get Guns that Jax's fear of corn is mainly thanks to his trypophobia as he's scared of other kernel-like objects, such as pomegranates.
- In the 2023 Glitch X, Gooseworx confirmed Jax's design is based off Popee Paraphone's, who's work inspired the creation of the show, with Jax likewise a sociopathic rabbit character. When asked if Jax was similar to him, Gooseworx responded, "Kinda? He's a hugely impulsive d--kwad but he has a little more depth than Popee that is explored way later down the line."
- According to Gooseworx, Jax has tried to remove his overalls several times. Emphasis on the word "tried", as it's implied that all circus members whose avatars sport clothes are unable to remove them.
- However, in his dream sequence in episode seven, he's shown without them on.
- He has a design, name, and personality similar to Max from Sam and Max. Like many references in the series, Sam and Max was most popular in the 1990s, the time period where The Amazing Digital Circus is lightly implied to take place.
- Jax's alleged "backstory" is actually the backstory of Walter White, the main protagonist of AMC crime drama Breaking Bad. This insinuates that Jax watched the show or at least knows about its synopsis.
- The way he jumped after Zooble placed a corn cob beside him is similar to how a cat reacts when a cucumber is placed beside it.
- While Ming won the Favourite Character Awards in-universe, in reality it was Jax who won, with at least 128036 votes, having narrowly surpassed Pomni by 6 votes.
- Interestingly, Jax seems to be a negative parallel of literally everybody in the Circus:
- While Zooble supports Gangle's humanity, encouraging her to stand up for herself and not hate her uncontrollable flaws, Jax forcefully categorises everybody into cartoon character archetypes, so much so that he keeps breaking Gangle's mask to keep her as the "sad one" whilst refusing to let the other Circus members showcase more of their true selves so as to compartmentalise them into his preconceived roles.
- While Ragatha tries to cope by making everybody happy, Jax copes by pushing everybody away.
- Additionally, Ragatha improves her relationship with the other Circus members after reflecting on her anxieties, while Jax pushes Pomni, his only real friend away after realising how close they're getting, in spite of reaching out to her.
- While Gangle's mental state is healed by Zooble's compassion, Jax's deteriorates as he shuns Pomni's compassion.
- While Kinger is mentally sound despite appearing outwardly crazy, Jax is deeply troubled despite his stable facade.
- Finally, Pomni delights in being able to become friends with Jax and is openly vulnerable, while Jax is terrified of becoming friends and opening up to her.
- In addition to the previous point, Jax's claims that all Circus members fall under a specific character archetype is eventually proven wrong:
- Ragatha being "the cheerful one" is disproven multiple times by her showing anxiety over how she's perceived by others to the point where she cries over it, though she gets better at the end of the episode.
- Gangle being "the sad one" is directly caused by Jax tormenting her. Thanks to Zooble's advice, she breaks out of that archetype at the end of the episode, as demonstrated by her the smile on her tragedy mask being bigger than the one on her comedy mask after Pomni shoots her.
- Kinger being "the crazy one" was already implied to not fully be the case in the second episode. This is fully proven by the third episode, as seen from his mental stability being brought out in dark places.
- Zooble being "the grumpy one" is disproven in the fourth episode by displaying their care for Gangle and continuing to mellow out more in the following episodes.
- Finally, Jax's own claims of being "the funny one" is shot down by his emotional outburst at the end of the sixth episode, which even Pomni calls him out on.
- In the GLITCH YouTube video "WATCH ME MERGE THEM", Caine refers to Jax as a stoner.
- The blinking screen he was forced to watch in “Fast Food Masquerade” appears to be a reference to the Silver Shamrock commercial in the 1982 horror film “Halloween III: Season of the Witch.”
