Jean Baptiste Le Ghei and Paul Guaye, better known as simply Jean and Paul, are supporting antagonists in the tv show Superjail! and Inmates at SuperJail.
Jean is voiced by Stephen Warbrick who has also voiced Fatty within the same show, and Paul is voiced by Christopher McCulloch who has also voiced The Doctor, Ash, Nicky, and Turban within the same show.
Personalities[]
Jean and Paul are a gay couple in SuperJail who are genuinely in love with each other, though they have had their moments where their relationship has wavered and have even briefly broken up on one occasion, however they always end up back together despite their issues.
Jean is the more masculine of the two who is prone to anger and occasionally gets caught staring at other men being raped in the showers, much to Paul's annoyance. According to some of his tattoos, he used to be a white supremacist, but gave up those racist views after falling in love with Paul.
Paul is the stereotypical "feminine" type of homosexual in the couple, always being more willing to express his emotions and feelings with Jean even if he doesn't know how to express them himself. Unlike Jean, Paul is shown to still have a good relationship with his parents.
History[]
Season One[]
Superbar[]
At a carnival, Jackknife finds an dart throwing game and seemingly decides to play, but instead he throws the darts into the game runner's face and then steals all of his money and runs off. As he attempts to escape in a rich family's speedboat, he's chased by the police until Jailbot arrives and kills all the other officers, then takes Jackknife back to Superjail.
In his office, The Warden vents to Jared about how he's in love with Alice but doesn't know how to make her love him back. Jared suggests taking her out for a drink, but then reminds him dating co-workers is against their regulations. However, The Warden decides to build a bar within Superjail anyways in hopes of meeting Alice there and asking her out on a date. Despite being a recovering alcoholic, The Warden makes Jared the bartender.
After inviting Alice to the new bar, several of the prisoners arrive to the grand opening of Superbar. When Nicky goes into the bathrooms however, he makes a plan with several other inmates including Jean and Paul to steal several decorations in order to build their own submarine and escape Superjail. Meanwhile, Alice finally arrives at the bar, but brings a prisoner known as "Beefy" as her date instead of The Warden. When Alice goes to the bathroom and discovers the prisoners attempting to escape, Jared has finally decided to start drinking again and accidentally opens the sea gate which causes a massacre between the prisoners of Superjail and the sea people, and Jackknife manages to escape again. After Alice drains the water, she saves The Warden's life after he nearly drowns, but tells The Warden just like Jared had earlier that dating co-workers is against regulation.
Some time later, the daughter of the rich couple who had been temporarily kidnapped by Jackknife tells her friends about her experience, who's then surprised to see him stalking them outside her window.
Cold-Blooded[]
Posing as a police officer, Jackknife pulls over a woman's car late at night with clear plans on molesting and then raping her, however the woman is then revealed to be Jailbot in another one of his disguises. Jackknife runs away until he comes across a house and breaks inside to try and hide. Jailbot arrests someone who looks like Jackknife, but it's revealed to not be him when the camera pans down to a faceless Jackknife tied up against a wall.
At Superjail's cafeteria, the Monster Convict quickly imposes an intimidating threat everyone in Superjail when he effortlessly slaughters several inmates and eats them at his own table. The Warden himself is angered by how much fear and respect he's gotten in only a day, Jared is rightfully terrified, but Alice is just turned on by him. Jared explains that the Monster Convict lived on his own in an old grave yard where he would dig up cadavers and kill hikers to decorate his home with their body parts. Wanting to know how and why the other inmates fear him so much, The Warden sends Jared undercover as an inmate to investigate his cell, much to his dismay.
Once he's in maximum security, Jared makes his way to the Monster Convict's cell and finds nothing but more bodies decorating his cell, not knowing that he's right behind him. However, the Monster Convict slips on a puddle of blood and ends up accidentally stabbing himself in the eye. Meanwhile, The Twins hack into Jailbot to control him for their own sadistic games. Angered that he's learned nothing, The Warden decides to leave him in there to teach him a lesson while the inmates think Jared killed him on purpose. Jared lies and says that he did kill him and that he'll kill everyone else if they don't do everything they say, making himself their new leader.
The Twins force Jailbot after The Warden to try and kill him while Paul and Jean dump the Monster Convict's body into the freezer room, where Alice tries having sex with his body, only to quickly freeze to death. Back in maximum security, the prisoners warn Jared that Jailbot is going on a rampage, though Jared isn't worried since he believes Jailbot will take the fall for him. The Twins however mercilessly beat Jared with Jailbot until the other prisoners rescue him, planning on building a suit of armor to fight Jailbot again.
After Jailbot traps The Warden in the freezer, Jared tries fighting Jailbot once again, but is again quickly defeated. The Warden finds Alice's frozen body and tries having sex with her, but quickly freezes much like her. Another riot breaks out within the freezer room until all of Superjail is frozen over and The Twins have fun in the snow.
Terrorarium[]
At a farm late at night, a farmer takes his shotgun and finds Jackknife making love to his daughter and he chases him until an alien spaceship appears from seemingly nowhere. The farmer tries shooting at it, but the spaceship disintegrates him with a laser and then attempts to abduct Jackknife, but then Jailbot rescues him and destroys the alien ship. Jailbot then takes Jackknife back to Superjail presumably for escaping once again in the previous episode.
At Superjail, The Warden is hosting a science fair though none of the presentations impress him enough to grant a reward, so he decides to grant himself as the winner. The Warden then presents the Terrorarium, a miniature model of a forest where five random inmates, including Jackknife are chosen to be shrunken down and put into the Terrorarium for a survival challenge. The Twins hear The Warden's demonstration and decide to take part in his experiment by replacing the growth serum at the end with a mysterious vile.
As the prisoners search for the serum, Jared regretfully tells The Warden that his custom trophy won't actually arrive until a week later, and as punishment The Warden forces Jared to carry a barrel full of growth serum to the closet. As Jared is moving the barrel, some of the serum leaks out, forcing an inmate named Bobo as well as Paul and Jean's science fair cockroach grow to giant sizes. Back inside the Terrorarium, one of the contestants has drowned in quicksand, the Indian Convict is mauled by a giant butterfly but survives, and another is killed by a giant praying mantis.
Back in The Warden's office, Jared arrives just as Bobo walks past a window and The Warden tells him to fix him or else he'll be demoted to a prison guard, though he assures Alice that "he's just f*cking with him". While Jean and Paul make plans to use their giant cockroach to fly to freedom, Jackknife and the other two final contestants try to eat a spider egg, but the Indian Convict and the other unnamed convict are eaten by the egg's mother. Jackknife finally finds the serum and while he drinks it, Jared has a mental breakdown from the constant humiliation from his friends and The Twins trick him into drinking the growth serum, turning him into a hulk-like beast and starts a fight with Alice.
During the fight, the barrel of growth serum splashes all over the courtyard and several small plants, insects, and animals start attacking the inmates. Jackknife drinks the rest of the serum which is revealed to be insect pheromones and several bus start chasing after him, while all of Superjail is overrun by plants and other giant threats, during which Jean and Paul are rescued and freed from Superjail. The Warden accidentally drops his Terrorarium which falls into a puddle of the growth serum, causing everything inside to grow even more. After all the Chaos, all of Superjail has been put inside a giant snow globe created by The Twins.
Season Two[]
Gay Wedding[]
At Niagara Falls, a married couple has their picture taken by Jackknife who demands payment from them and then kicks them into the waters before running off, pushing more people in his way into the falls. He hides in a barrel from security guards until it's knocked down into the falls and he's arrested by Jackknife.
The Warden helps Jean and Paul plan their wedding, much to their dismay.
Back at Superjail, a message is sent throughout the entire structure announcing the wedding of Paul Guaye and Jean Baptiste Le Ghei, two inmates that have been lovers for almost their entire stay at Superjail. When The Warden and Alice find out, Alice is offended she wasn't invited while The Warden wants it to turn it into a massive ceremony, though Jared reminds them that before Jean and Paul were married that they were the leaders of the most violent rival gangs Superjail had ever contained and begs them to not get involved to not start another gang war. The Warden immediately ignores Jared's pleas.
The Warden forcefully makes himself their best man and Alice the maid of honor, and postpones the wedding ceremony until they get everything ready, despite them wanting a small get together for it. Jailbot brings Paul's parents in for the wedding as well as Jean's father, whom Jean was sent to Superjail for in the first place for stabbing him for his homophobia. At the bachelor parties, Jean discovers Paul having sex with another man and the two break up.
Jean and Paul enjoy their honeymoon in solitary confinement.
The next day, both Jean and Paul reunite their old gangs and the two have a massive brawl in Superjail's courtyard, and Jared tells both The Warden and Alice in order to stop them that they have to be reunited. The Warden plans on doing this by recreating the scenario in which they fell in love in the first place, by first serving sloppy joes in the cafeteria and spiking Jean and Paul's sandwiches with laxatives. Their plan works perfectly, so Jean and Paul decide to call off the war and put the wedding back on.
Ghosts[]
At a haunted house, Jackknife disguises himself as a ghost to steal from passengers as they ride through on their carts until he's discovered by Jailbot who quickly catches him and returns to Superjail. Meanwhile at Superjail, Jared has started a newspaper for the inmates and Fatty soon discovers a picture that shows ghosts are now haunting everyone. The Warden is skeptical at first until he sees the underworld for himself, so he goes searching for help by first going to Jean and Paul, but they aren't able to help. The Warden and Jared then go to a witch doctor who tells them the souls of the dead inmates are out for revenge against The Warden.
They then go to The Doctor for assistance who tells them that despite being a man of science, Superjail is indeed haunted and The Inmates cannot go to the afterlife because so many of them die so quickly, purgatory is literally cramped with them. The Doctor then states in order to fix this issue, they have to personally go into the afterlife to fix purgatory themselves by temporarily killing The Warden so he can confront them in person. Once there, The Warden attempts to officially pardon all of the damned souls, but they instead get infuriated that The Warden's Superjail was so unsafe that it killed them and they all try to kill him again.
Once The Doctor revives The warden however, all of the damned souls are brought back to the land of the living with him and cause mass havoc within Superjail, and The Warden dies again once all of the souls are released. He meets with Quetzalpacatlan, an ancient spirit who is blocking the entrance into the next life. Jared tries reviving The Warden himself, but accidentally electrocutes himself, who then manages to unclog Purgatory by pushing Quetzalpacatlan to the other side and forcing all of the spirits into the next life. The God of the afterlife determines it is not The Warden or Jared's time to go yet and brings them back to life.
The Budding of The Warbuxx[]
After The Warden watches a poorly made 1950s anti-marijuana PSA, The Warden becomes paranoid of nearly everyone in Superjail using drugs. Meanwhile, one of the twins is suddenly impregnated with a "Warbuxx bud", which spawns crystals out of their stomach. Alice believes they're going to have an actual child and offers to raise the "child" herself, to which they agree, though The Warden believes they're only drug mules and the crystals are either meth, crack cocaine, or angel dust.
Jean and Paul discover Ash Firin is outright scared from movies in general due to being horribly burned as a child when his father set the theater on fire with his cigarette, and they decide to help him overcome his fear. The Warden and Jared take one of the crystals to The Doctor who decides to test what it could do by smoking it, and the three quickly become addicted to what appear to be hallucinations at first, but they actually manipulate their bodies. Back at the theater, Nicky plans on scaring Ash during the scariest part of the horror movie they're all watching while The Twins' Warbuxx begins to hatch.
Jared, The Doctor, and The Warden burst into the theater and scare everyone except Ash, who believes he has actually summoned one of his childhood heroes to life and sets fire to the theater to try and kill the "Demons", and The Twins' Warbuxx is finally born, whom they immediately eat since it's a delicacy on their planet.
Season Three[]
Sticky Discharge[]
When Jackknife goes to a zoo, he gets attacked by several animals and opens all of the cages to cause mass panic, until Jailbot arrests him. Back at Superjail, Paul Guaye becomes the first inmate in Superjail's history to become eligible for parole, and The Warden is devastated to hear this since he believes Superjail is "his home". Jared tells The Warden that unless Paul commits a crime within the next two hours, he'll be set free and there will be noting anyone can do to stop it. Once Alice tells Paul the news, Jean threatens to break up with him if he leaves and The Warden tries to trick Paul into committing a crime by dropping a gun into his cell, though Paul swats it away.
Paul Guaye celebrating his (temporary) freedom.
For his next plan to get Paul to commit a crimes, Jailbot kidnaps Paul while he's in the showers and drops him into a huge field of drugs, hoping Paul will crack and use them since he either used to be or still is a drug addict, though Paul manages to sustain from them all. Meanwhile, Jean gets a new roommate named Charlie Streyt and he tries using him to make Paul jealous, though his plan also fails. The Warden manages to find a knife in Paul's cell, though Jared tells him Charlie is a witness, and he tells The Warden that the knife actually belongs to Jean. Jared then takes Paul to the gates of Superjail to let him go free, where everyone except The Warden congratulates Paul on his release.
Once Paul is outside however, he starts to miss Jean who's by himself in solitary confinement and he runs backs to Jean after punching Jailbot in the face and starting a riot, and reunites with him after stabbing Alice in the stomach. During the riot, Jared tells The Warden that Paul has committed enough crimes now to keep him locked up inside Superjail for fifty years.
Planet Radio[]
When Jackknife tries to steal a fake treasure chest from a pirate movie set, he kills several studio actors while trying to get away, but only to find out the chest was actually Jailbot in another one of his disguises and he takes Jackknife back to Superjail. Meanwhile, Lord Stingray has started his own radio broadcast for the inmates of Superjail but has his own rivalry with The Rat King that ate Gary Sedi's vocal cords, both trying to persuade the inmates into joining their side in taking over Superjail. After The Warden's breakfast is ruined however, he orders that all of the radios owned by the inmates be destroyed so he can start his own television broadcasts, with Jailpup (starring Jailbot) and Timmy (Fatty) being the most popular show by far.
Wanting to regain control of the inmate population, Lord Stingray joins forces with The Rat King to create a new radio empire with their own rat army and they start by kidnapping Jailbot. Fatty rallies all of Superjail in order to go and rescue Jailpup and The Warden soon joining them after learning that the rats could be carrying diseases. After Jailbot is freed, he immediately kills Fatty as well as Jean, Paul, Ash, and Nicky, seeming to have no more interest in being Jailpup anymore. The Rat King is killed by Alice, however Gary's vocal cords are once again moved to another body, this time within Prison Peedee to bring him to life.
Jean, Paul, Beefy, and Alice[]
After Jackknife gets drunk and stumbles into a nature preservation, abusing several animals in the process, he sees a peacock and immediately tries to eat it until Jailbot arrives to try an arrest him. While chasing him down however, Jailbot notices two peacocks about to mate and decides that he wants a lover of his own before taking Jackknife back to Superjail.
The disgusting mutations caused by the alien fungus.
Meanwhile at The Warden's private spa, Jean and Paul discover Alice and Sweetcheeks sneaking in just as they were planning on doing, and The Twins plan on having fun at everyone's expense again by giving Jailbot an alien fungus he falls in love with, but everyone who comes into contact with the fungus becomes horrifically mutated. The Doctor hypothesizes that if they kill the original source of the fungus, then everyone infected with it will be cured, so Alice, Jean, Paul, and Sweetcheeks arm themselves to kill Jailbot's lover.
After seeing The Warden infected with the fungus, Jailbot realizes just how deadly it is to everyone and burns it alive with his flamethrowers. Ironically, this does nothing to stop the infection.
Season Four[]
The Superjail Six[]
Both Jean and Paul make their final appearances during the Alligator-Human war declared on Superjail, where Paul had his face bitten off by one of the baby alligator people and Jean was eaten alive by another.
Trivia[]
- Throughout the series, Paul has died six times and Jean has died five times, almost always dying together within the same episode. The only time this didn't occur was during the Bunny Love pilot episode where Jean stabbed Paul to death after an argument, before the writers made them regularly occurring characters.
