Do not fear your fate. Stand, Cereza. Stand and open your eyes. For with every truth, there is another one to be seen.

~ Jeanne
Jeanne is Bayonetta's best friend and former rival, and the deuteragonist in the Bayonetta franchise.
In Japanese, she is voiced by Mie Sonozaki in all appearances. In English, she has been voiced by Grey DeLisle (who also voiced Jubileus the Creator from the first Bayonetta game, Vicky from The Fairly OddParents!, Mandy from The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy and Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender) in all numbered Bayonetta games and Eleanor Jackson in Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon.
500 years ago, Jeanne was a heir to the Umbra Clan. She picked Cereza( Bayonetta) for her fight, but she was defeated, however, before Cereza could be declared the victor, their duel was interrupted by the Witch Hunt. Fearing that the Left Eye of darkness would fall into the hands of Paradiso, Jeanne sealed Bayonetta into a lake, locking away her memories and putting her into a 500 year slumber.
In the present day, she is allied with Balder and the forces of Paradiso. She fights Bayonetta four times.
Jeanne is defeated for the last time, and it is revealed that she and Bayonetta weren't always enemies, but actually close friends; long ago in their childhood. She tells Bayonetta to "stand" and to "not fear her fate" but then is presumedly killed by an explosion of two rockets that struck the building they were on.
It is revealed later on that she's not actually dead, and that she used the jewel to protect herself from the explosion. Not only that, but it is shown that at some point, Jeanne was abducted and brainwashed into helping Balder achieve his goal of awakening Jubileus, the creator, so that a new World could be born. The jewel broke the spell that was cast on her, freeing her mind from his influence. Jeanne comes to rescue Bayonetta, using her motorcycle, witch time and debris left by the rocket lifting Jubileus's statue, to get onto the spacecraft and power through hordes of angels, doing their best to halt her. She was successful in freeing Bayonetta, but was pushed off by a shockwave, produced by Jubileus's statue as the goddess began to awaken, and floated off into outer space and was presumed dead. But once again, she returns in the end to help Bayonetta defeat Jubileus by summoning Queen Sheba to destroy her.
In the end after the fight with The Creator, Bayonetta appears to have perished from the re-entrance into Earth's atmosphere and a small funeral is being held for her, but Jeanne is nowhere to be found. But it turns out, Jeanne is actually the nun present that is saying prayers and once the forces of Paradiso appear to collect Bayonetta's body, she engages in combat and dispatches them one by one. After getting fed up with the uniform, she rips it off and tells Bayonetta to get out of the coffin and help her, showing that they both actually survived re-entry and the funeral was just a rouse to get angels to appear. After Bayonetta awakens, they both kill all the angels that appeared, while managing to wreck Enzo's newest car in the process.

Super Smash Bros.[]
In the Super Smash Bros. series, Jeanne first made her debut within Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, being a trophy obtainable through Bayonetta's DLC pack.
Following this appearance, Jeanne once again returned in collectable form in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, appearing as one of the game's many spirits. An Attack-type spirit of the Ace-rank, it can be enhanced into a spirit for Cutie J upon reaching Level 99, becoming a Legend-rank spirit that grants its user more invincibility frames when dodging. For its spirit battle, the player must fight against a Bayonetta on Umbra Clock Tower in a stamina match, with the Bayonetta having the power of its projectile attacks increased.
