Biography[]

Jed McNally was a family friend to the Kents and was always kind to Clark. His farm was next to theirs.
Season Six[]
During the second meteor shower, McNally was caught in it and buried deep down in the ground for three days. Exposed to large quantities of raw Kryptonite which mutated his genetic make-up, McNally gained the ability to dig underground incredibly quickly and travel through tunnels. After emerging from underground, Jed was recruited into Lex Luthor's Level 33.1 project before being released. Returning to his farm, McNally began smuggling illegal immigrants to work on his farm; using his powers to discretely kill any deserters.
A boy named Javier Ramirez had been brought to his farm and wanted to escape the harsh conditions with his friend Francisco. Francisco warned him that anybody who had tried to escape had disappeared without a trace. When a migrant worker collapsed, Jed appeared and tells everyone to get back to work while they tend to the injured worker. That night while attempting to escape through the cornfield, Javier and Francisco heard a rumbling coming beneath them. Javier succeeded in escaping, but Francisco was drawn into the earth by McNally using his tunneling powers to trap him underground.
Javier escaped and made his way to the Kent Farm where he met Clark who invited him inside to get cleaned up and fed. In the house, Javier said he ran away from Jed McNally's farm because no one was allowed to leave and there was little food. He also told Clark about the missing people and that he was an illegal immigrant before begging him not to call the police.
Clark volunteered to help find his friend and left Javier at Chloe Sullivan's apartment while he went to the McNally Farm under the pretense of asking for a tractor part. Jed was friendly and optimistic, speaking about how the second meteor shower was actually a blessing for his farm.
As he went to get the part, Clark asked some workers about Francisco and one of them mutters a phrase in Spanish that Clark didn't understand. When Clark left, Jed looked suspicious. Later Clark met two other works from the McNally Farm who report that the ground "swallowed" Francisco. Clark used his X-ray vision on the field and saw multiple skeletons under the surface. Clark called the authorities on Jed and crime scene investigators began excavating multiple bodies.
When Javier ran away, McNally vowed vengeance against Clark and Javier before he was arrested, he disappears into the ground, tunneling away. Lex was angry that Dr. Bauer did not disclose that McNally was killing his workers, but Bauer claimed he only knew that he was able to displace minerals and burrow through the earth. Lex was upset that his "test subject" would end up in jail and told Bauer to find McNally quickly before the police.
Clark and Javier were on their way back to meet his mother, when Javier asks Clark to tell him what happened to Francisco. Clark tragically states that Francisco is dead and an upset Javier makes Clark stop the truck. He ran to the edge of the field and starts to cry. Clark tried to get him back into the truck, but is sucked into the ground right in front of Javier. Clark and McNally have an underground fight.
Javier saw a rumbling and suddenly Clark was standing next to him again, covered in dirt. McNally also surfaces, semi-conscious. Clark later stated that he doesn't feel satisfied that McNally was put away because he is realizing he can't solve all the world's problems. A comatose McNally was then returned to Level 33.1 under Lex's scientists' supervision.
