Jeeves Weevil is the main antagonist of the episode Evil Weevil, of the Tv series Courage the Cowardly Dog. He is played by Paul Schoeffler.

Apparence[]

Jeeves is a giant male fly dressed as a butler. He is wearing a blue top hat and a blue jacket, with a black tie. He is dressed like an English gentleman who stands on dark blue purple.

Personality[]

Jeeves immediately presents himself as a gentle, servile and amiable gentleman, even if hideous he behaves cordially with people who welcome him into the house.

However, this is only a facade to cover up the true nature of him: in reality he is evil who takes possession of human strength by sucking it.

Description[]

The insect is first seen when the Bagges are driving along a road, at which point they suddenly hit the creature with their windscreen. Muriel suggests that Eustace stop and tries to render assistance to the weevil. He says that he is injured and Muriel offers to let him have dinner at their house.

While eating, the weevil says that he is a 'Jeeves weevil' or 'Butler bug' and lives to serve people. He helps Muriel bring food to the table and gives Eustace the largest serving of pie. He then extends his proboscis and slurps a watermelon on the table at which point the Bagges look horrified. He says that he must have been hungrier than he thought.

Later, the weevil is massaging Eustace while Muriel washes the plates. Courage watches from the stairs as the insect extends his tongue and sucks something from Eustace. Eustace then says that he feels better but when he gets up all his clothes fall off because he is scrawny. He hangs onto his shorts and goes up the stairs to bed, cursing Courage for being a 'stupid dog' as he does. The weevil follows him and says that he could tailor Eustace's clothings.

The weevil later draws a bath for Muriel while Eustace is tired and sleeping. Courage runs to the bedroom door and watches as the weevil tries to open the door to the washroom where Muriel is bathing. He stops when he realises that the dog is watching him and goes away. Later in bed Courage wakes up after hearing a noise and sees the weevil on the ceiling. Terrified, he tries to call Muriel but she is dead tired from the bath. Courage hides beneath the blanket while the weevil's tongue sucks from something.

The next day Courage and Muriel are seen to be fine while the insect makes breakfast but Eustace is even skinnier than before. Muriel tells him to go outside for some fresh air and he does. Courage tries to touch him but at this point Eustace is so skinny that he finally disintegrates into a pile of dust. Courage collects this using a plastic bag and goes back inside where he sees the monster sucking from Muriel. He panics and pulls out a handphone to call the exterminator. The pest controller arrives and Courage does a replica of the weevil, causing the man to spray him with bug spray and leave. Courage later goes into the house and sees the weevil taking pictures of Muriel as though she were a model. Furious, he smashes the camera and gestures the insect to the door, but Muriel says that isn't nice. The weevil suggests a food eating competition for Courage and him.

At the table, the insect says that if the dog wins all the rounds, then the weevil would leave but would get to stay if the dog is unable to complete every challenge. First they consume rancid brocolli which Courage manages fine. Next they both eat brocolli which is rotten for a week, which Courage barely manages with a nose plug. Lastly they consume rancid brocolli that the creature held between his toes for a week. Obviously the weevil eats everything, but this time Courage runs to the door and throws up.

As the dog comes back in, he is horrified to see the weevil sucking from Muriel again, making her emaciated. Courage runs in and tries to solve the problem, taking the insect's proboscis and sticks it onto its own stomach. The creature sucks his own life force, causing him to diminish in size, to the point that he becomes tiny and all his oversized clothes, which are meant to be worn when he is much larger, fall off. He then goes to Courage, shouts 'STUPID DOG!!!' and kicks the dog's shin before leaving.

Trivia[]

  • He studied at the "Bad Taste Academy" of "Mold-on-Crumpet".
  • He is the second main antagonist to be an arthropod; the first being Schwick.
  • His personality is similar to that of Swayzak from Toonami's, however, Swayzak wasn't refined in his first (and most well known) appearance, that trait being derived from other material he appeared in.
  • For many years, there was a common misconception that Jeeves was voiced by the late Tony Jay, known well for his deep, sinister voice, and for playing villains such as Judge Claude Frollo from Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Megabyte from ReBoot. The exact reasoning behind this misconception is unclear beyond their voices sounding similar.
