Jeff Gondo is a capo for the international weapons mafia and an antagonist in episodes 17 and 18 of Tokusou Robo Janperson.
He is portrayed by Ryosuke Sakamoto, who also played the heroic Shiro Gou/Red1 in Choudenshi Bioman.
Biography[]
Jeff Gondo and his goons pursued Kaoru Saegusa, seeking to kidnap her so they could force her to make weapons for them. However, Janperson intervened and fought off Gondo and his goons before escaping with Kaoru. Jeff would later be approached by Tatewaki and his assistant Sarah, who had discovered Kaoru was the creator of Janperson and offered to ally with Jeff to capture her. With the Tatewaki Konzern's backing, Jeff kidnapped Kaoru's younger brother Shuhei and used him to blackmail Kaoru into handing over the blueprints for Janperson to him. Unbeknownst to Jeff, Tatewaki had placed a miniature explosive device on him, hoping to use him as an unwitting suicide bomber to take out Janperson.
Kaoru later went to the site of the exchange to trade the blueprints for her brother, but used a robot double of herself to distract Jeff while she went to free Shuhei. Janperson also arrived to provide backup to Kaoru, but after he didn't get close enough for the bomb to go off Sarah intervened and shot at him. After Sarah knocked Janperson off a cliff, Jeff Gondo took both Kaoru and Shuhei hostage and brought them to his hideout.
Janperson later tracked Gondo down and went to rescue Kaoru and Shuhei. After saving Shuhei however, Janperson's MX-A1 personality began to come out again and Jeff held a gun to Kaoru's to force Janperson to back down. However, Janperson managed to overcome the MX-A1's influences and rescue Kaoru before going to capture Gondo. He then noticed the explosive Tatewaki had planted on Gondo and went to remove it, at which point Tatewaki activated it to kill them both. However, Janperson survived the explosion and was able to safely escape with Kaoru and Shuhei.
